"Well, you look stunning."
Katherine heard Elijah say from behind her as she turned around and watched him standing by the door of her room. He looked dapper in his tuxedo as he stepped inside and walked over to where she was standing in front of the mirror.
His arms involuntarily circled her waist as he pulled her closer to himself and placed a chaste kiss on her cheek, "more than stunning in fact." He murmured against her skin making her veins tingle as she chuckled and turned around in his embrace to continue putting the earrings in her ears.
"I ought to, love," she said with a smirk, "I'm Katherine Pierce."
Elijah snickered as he nuzzled in her neck making her sigh in anticipation as she placed her hands over his while looking at him in the mirror.
He was right, she did look good. The black velvet gown hugged her skin, cinching at her waist before it flew down in a narrow trail down till her feet. Her hair was left in its natural curls while red lipstick adorned her lips sensuously. Her diamond drop earrings matched the thin bracelet on her hand.

"No matter what you say, you will always be my Katerina." He whispered to her and for once, Katherine grinned in the same manner that he had missed so much.
"Elijah...I-" She started before turning back around and snaking her arms around his neck, "I have to tell you something."
He raised his eyebrow, "are you leaving me, Katerina?" He asked with a hint of fear in his amused eyes and that melted her heart as she shook her head, placing her hand on his cheek.
"It's the opposite, actually." She stated, gulping once before she met his eyes again, "I have always wanted to tell you how much you truly mean to me, but whenever I tried, something or the other would break us apart and my words remained unsaid. But now, I feel like we have entered a stage in our lives where neither of us has to look over our shoulders anymore. So, I guess what I'm trying to say..." she breathed, nibbling on her lip as Elijah watched her patiently.
"You can say what you want to, Kat. I'm right here." He whispered with caressing words as he tightened his hold on her waist.
