I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a gold necklace made of real gold spelling out her name. Then there's another gift wrapped in paper.
"Be gentle." I say, knowing how Jaden makes presents. She gently and cautiously take the paper off and see a custom made lullaby things. It had a pure diamond bottom and it turned to the shape of a sphere. It had me, Jaden, Jackson, and Alana when they were babies. I was in awe. I felt a tear come down my face.
"Who's them?" She asks.
"That's us 10 years ago Lani." I say, holding the delicate item. I turn the turner thingy and then it plays a song. A lullaby version of comatose without the words. That was the first song I ever heard by him. Tears start to come down as I smile.
"What's wrong mommy?" She asks, hugging me. I sniffle.
"Absolutely nothing."
I wake up and already know today is gonna be one hell of a day. I start to get ready and take a hot shower. I feel the warm water stream down my petite freezing body, giving me goosebumps at the sudden contact of the water. I wash my hair twice making sure I put the conditioner in where it makes my hair softer. I wash my body with soap and a rag and then stand there for a few minutes until I decide to get out. I get out and put hair product in my hair to give texture and softness since today is kinda important. Especially to the kids. I dry my hair and use my curler brush. Then I curl my hair, which I haven't done in 10 years. I brush my teethies and put deodorant on and put a cute outfit on, showing cleavage and it hugs my body, showing my curves it was a white crop top. Then I wore a skirt. A black skirt. I do my makeup. Simple. Just some foundation, concealer, blush, highlight, eyebrow stuff, and mascara. Did I mention I put a slit in my brow about a week ago? I got everything ready and cooked breakfast for the kids and Jaden, knowing he was about to be here.
"Mommy mommy mommy!!! I'm seeing daddy today!!!" Alana yells as she jumps in my arms. I laugh at how excited she is to see him. "You look pretty!" She hugs me.
"Thanks babygirl. Daddy will be here in a little bit, ok? Go ahead and wake Jackie up and tell him to come get breakfast." I say, hugging her one last time before I put her down.
"Ok!!!" She squeals and runs upstairs. Then 2 minutes later I hear the doorbell ring. I fix my hair and look in the mirror and open the door.
"He-wow!" He says looking at me with his mouth open. "You look a-amazing..." he smiles and blushes a little bit. I chuckle as I blush and look down for a second, looking back up into his eyes. I forgot how beautiful his eyes were. They were so blue. A light blue and it went so well with his black hair with a spot of red. I let him come in.
"I made breakfast for you and the kids." I smile, handing him a plate.
"Thanks. Have you eaten yet?" He says, giving me a stern look. He still remembers.
"Um yes I did." I say.
"That's a lie. Come on Bri I need you to eat. I know you still hate me but please eat. Please." He begs and holds out a bite of pancake with little syrup. I hesitate as I grab the fork and take a bite, slowly chewing and swallowing as I give him the fork back. He gives me a wide smile. "Good. I expect to see you eat lunch and dinner today. Whether it's a little or a lot solid or liquid. I want to see you eat." And then we hear running down the stairs.
"DADDY!!!" Alana screams as she goes to him and gives him a huge hug. I chuckle to myself at how much she loves him already. Jackson rolls his eyes and goes to eat his food.
"Hey babygirl! How have you been? Did you like my present?" He smiles and puts her on his lap as he takes a piece of bacon and starts to eat it.
"Yeah I loved it! I love the necklace and the lullaby thing! I love the music!" She giggles.
