Odin's Daughter

CHAPTER 11

This last week flew by very quick for the team, but for me it dragged very slowly. I have been put on house arrest to make sure I didn't over exert my ankle. We will be leaving in about an hour or two to head to the new compound but I'm not allowed to help pack or load so I am sitting on the porch reading a book. Most of our clothing was sent to the dry cleaner so that all would already be at the house. The team was just packing our essentials and the few items of clothes we did have. I see a light hit the grounds in front of me. I knew it was Thor and Loki before they even walked out of the light. I hear footsteps running down the stairs from the sounds of it it was Nat.

"Are you alright?" Nat asked coming up to me. I turn my head looking at her and smile before pointing at my brothers coming up towards the house. I turn back and see a very somber look.

"What happened?" I ask still in the chair.

"Hades has requested your immediate return to the underworld." Loki told us not making eye contact.

"Hades? Underworld?" Nat was rightfully confused.

"How many?" I ask as the smile slowly disappeared from my face. I have not been in the underworld in 40 years which means that this was a big deal.

"200." Thor replied. I nod my head sadly.

"We will be discussing this when I get back." I turn to Nat. She had a look of worry and confusion. "Take my hand love, do you trust me?" I ask her as I slowly stand up. Nat nods her head and hesitantly accepts my hand. I hobble down the steps hand in hand with Nat making our way to the open field.

"Make sure everything is taken care of for our return!" I shout at my brothers before I look at the ground and close my eyes. "To Hades." I whisper holding Nat's hand tightly. I open my eyes slowly as I see the dark grey and green mist surround us. Everything around us goes dark. I knew that we were moving but Nat most likely felt like we were standing still.

"What is this?" Nat asked turning towards me.

"I'll explain everything after we get there." After 15 seconds I felt my legs touch the hard ground again. The mist slowly fades and I look around and the familiar entrance to the underworld.

"El! I'm so sorry I had to have you come. I know you like to handle this in your own way, and as long as I have been doing this, I have never been quiet as good as you." Hades says as he makes his way forward in an all-black suit. He bows once he is only 2 feet away. I offer my free hand to Hades and he accepts. Once our hands are connected, I see Natasha and I's outfit change. Nat was in a form fitted black and grey dress. I was in a dark blue and black ballgown with a black diamond crown. "They will be arriving in 5 minutes." Hades tells me as he slips his hand away. I nod my head before I watch him leave Nat and I at the entrance.

"200 of our Asgardian people has died. As princess it is my duty to meet them at the entrance of the underworld to calm their nerves as they enter their new home." I tell Nat trying not to show emotion.

"Oh El, I'm so sorry." Nat rubs my arm supporting me.

"You know sometimes I enjoy being down here, I have a bit more power, and I'm surrounded by eternity." I tell her not braking eye contact. I take my left hand and wave it around her face. I watch as a Nat has a Black and Grey crown on. I smile looking at her beauty.

"Princess they are coming." I hear one of the guards say behind us. I nod my head feeling my smile fade.

"Stay here, enjoy the show." I tell Nat kissing her on the cheek before I walk over to the docks. I watch the boats row in.

"Princess!" I felt my heart shatter hearing her little voice. Marie jumped out of the boat running over to me. I get down on the ground and smile at her with sadness in my eyes. "Princess where are we?" Marie asked with concern. I offer her my hand as I stand slowly. I watch more people exit the boats. Most of them are guards, some elderly and about 15 children. I give a gentle smile.
