I coughed and blew my nose for maybe the tenth time in the last minute. It was an overnight thing that got me really sick really fast. I grabbed my phone again and looked at the texts.

em: how ya feeling beautiful??

me: terrible em. but thanks.

em: so no on the date tonight?

me: righto

em: feelbetter baby!!

It had been a week since I had gone on a double date with Luke, Emma and Calum. I had to admit that I was warming up to Cal, even though I didn't want to.

I scrolled through twitter a little bit and texted my mom-who was at work- that we needed more tissues.

All of the sudden I heard a knock at my window. I slowly got up out of bed and walked over to window and opened it up.

"Great. You're not dead or something worse." Calum said, climbing into my room from my first story window.

"Trust me, I wish I was dead." I said with a cough.

"Harlin. I think you're sick." He said looking at me.

"Wow thanks genius. Are you just here to state the obvious or what?" I sniffled.

"Well when Emma said you weren't going to be going on the date tonight I didn't think there was a point in going." He shrugged. "So I came to be with you."

"Well you may want to stay a few feet back. I could give you my ebola."

"Ha ha." He said rolling his eyes.

I slumped back onto my bed. "Well since you're here you could go get me some soup cally." I tried to pull off a cute face though being sick made it impossible.

"Where do you keep your soup?" Calum asked smiling at me.

"Everything's just in the kitchen, down the hall." I replied smiling back.

He nodded and walked out of my room.

I quickly walked over to my dresser and grabbed my black all time low shirt and a pair of white sweatpants. I changed out of my oversized sweatshirt and leggings and laid down in my bed just as Calum opened the door.

"One bowl of soup and a glass of water." He said handing me a warm bowl.

"Thanks." I said smiling at him.

"No problem. Did you chan-"

"So you just decided to come over?" I cut him off, patting the spot next to me on my bed.

He sat down and nodded. "Yeah. Thought you would want some company."

"Well thank you for coming." I replied. "And for making me soup."

"Is it good?" He asked raising his eyebrows.

I took a sip. "It is."

"Good." He leaned back on my pillows.

He watched as I finished the soup and drank the water. When I was finished he looked around my room and nodded at my band posters and pictures.

"I like your room." He said.

"Thanks."

"Is this you?" He asked walking over to a picture and pointing to me smiling as a baby in my highchair, spaghetti all over my face.

"Yeah." I said with a laugh. "I like food."

"Who doesn't?" He smiled and walked back to my bed, sitting again.

"Food haters."

"True." He put his hand on my forehead. "You're burning up. You should sleep."

"I've been sleeping all day nurse Calum. I'm fine." I turned away from him and coughed into my arm.

"You sure?"

I nodded and moved so i was sitting like him.

"Okay. But if you want to sleep let me know cause I can leave." He said.

I put my hand on his quickly. "No."

"No?" He questioned, looking at me.

"No. Don't leave." I blushed.

He leaned into my ear. "I won't." He whispered.

"Good." I whispered back, laying my head on his shoulder.

"So now you're tired?" He smiled.

"I couldn't be more awake." I said with a smile.

He laughed and shook his head. "You're so lame."

"I know." I answered sitting up.

He smiled at me and I blushed, smiling back.

"You're so pretty." He said.

"Oh I bet you tell that to all the girls you take care of." I said laughing.

"No. Only the pretty ones." He smiled. he put his hand back on top of mine. "I don't tend to lie to people."

"Really?" I asked, sucking in a breath.

"Really." He replied, leaning a little closer to me.

My body worked without my mind telling it what to do. I leaned into him and my eyes fluttered closed. I could feel the heat resinating off his body as he leaned closer and I could feel his warm breath fanning over my face as his lips got closer to me.

Then my mind caught up with me and I pulled away, opening my eyes. "Calum. I'm sick." I said.

"Oh yeah." He said, his tan cheeks growing a dark shade of pink.

"I just don't want you to get sick and-"

"I got ya." He said and stood up off my bed. "I have to go."

"Yeah." I said looking down.

He leaned down and kissed my cheek. "Bye."

"Bye."

And the window opened and shut.
