"Do you want me to wait for you?" Emma asked, twirling her keys in her hand.
"No, i'll be fine." I replied. "If all goes right Cal can drive me home."
She laughed. "We sound like thirteen year old girls."
She was right, I never had imagined I would sound like a little girl with my crushes but I guess it had happened.
"What do I even say?" I asked, my palms sweating again.
"Just be yourself!" Emma smiled.
"Thats the most generic advice you could ever give me."
"Well yeah," emma bit her lip. "But thats the only thing I can say."
"Is it hopeless?" I asked her quietly.
"God no. It's not hopeless at all." She shook her head.
"Emma...."
"You'll do fine. I promise."
"But-"
"No buts." She cut me off.
I giggled. "What about my butt?"
"You're and idiot!" She said.
"I know."
"Good luck bubba." Emma hugged me and walked in the opposite direction of where I was going.
The halls were almost empty, most of the kids already going home.
I walked towards the bend in the wall. I took a deep breath and smoothed the wrinkles out of my shirt. I looked at the corner of the wall and sighed. Calum's locker was right around the corner. I knew I had to tell him but I didn't exactly know how.
"Hey Calum. I really like you." Doesn't seem right.
"Calum. Funny seeing you here! But since you're here, go out with me." Sounds too weird.
Nothing fit.
I took a deep breath and took a step. I rounded the corner and nodded to the ground.
I ran through a list of things that could go wrong. There were a lot. What if he had already had gone to his bus? What if he didn't like me back? What if I fainted in front of him... Or puked?
I shook my head and looked up. He was there all right. But we had one small problem.
He was with another girl.
A girl with long brown hair, long legs and blue eyes. She was wearing a plain green shirt with blue jeans and vans. She had her backpack by her feet and her arms around calums neck.
I bit my lip and nodded to myself. Great.
"Calum!" She shrieked, laughing. His head rested in her shoulder. "That tickles!"
And then he kissed her. And. Then. He. Kissed. Her. The way I wanted to kiss him. The way I wanted him to kiss me.
That was supposed to be us. Me and him. Not her.
He was supposed to hold my hand and kiss the top of my head. Fall asleep with me, our legs tangled together. Share music. Go to the park together just because we wouldn't go outside otherwise. Kiss my tears away. Teach me to play guitar because I knew he could play.
Me.
I quickly turned around and walked back the way I came. He had moved on within a matter of two days. He had never liked me. Tears filled my eyes and I didn't notice the boy walking towards me until I was on the ground from the impact, looking up into beautiful hazel eyes.

I had just explained what happened to Luke, Emma and the boy from the hall who I now knew as Ashton. He was actually one of Lukes friends.
"Well thats Calum." Ashton said rolling his eyes.
"Whats that supposed to mean?" Luke asked Ash.
"Oh come on Hemmings, you know how he just dates girls."
"He hasn't done that in a while Ashton." Luke said putting extra emphasis on his name. "He's changed.
Ash rolled his eyes.
"Well we need to do something about this." Emma said.
"Like?" Ash asked.
"Well if he wants to make Harlin jealous we should make him jealous."
"Well maybe he's not trying to make me jealous. Maybe he just likes her." I jetted in.
"He doesn't." Luke said laughing.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked.
"Calum." Luke replied.
"Well," Emma said patting my shoulder. "We should still make him jealous."
"How?" Ashton asked.
"Well Mr. Irwin. With you." Emma smiled.
"What?" He asked.
"You'll find out." She smirked and kissed Luke on the cheek. "Lets all go on a date tomorrow night around eight?"
"I don't have a date." Ashton and I said at the same time and then looked at eachother.
God Emma.
