Bucky sits on the ground in the hallway, waiting for Tony to come out with any news. It's almost been an hour and Tony hasn't let anyone inside.

About 20 minutes ago, a man walked in and said Tony called him. He must've been a doctor, because Tony hasn't even let Emma inside to see what's going on.

Emma's starting to worry, because even though her and Steve haven't been together a long time, she still cares for him. Bucky is scared too, because he just got his best friend back.

"I'm so sorry Emma." Bucky says finally making noise. "If I would've been faster, I could've prevented this."

"Stop apologizing. It's not like you're the one who shot him." Emma said and sits next to Bucky. "Besides, he's going to be just fine."

Bucky looks down and thinks about how he could've prevented this. Emma looks at him and feels really bad that he's blaming himself so much. She leans her head on his shoulder and nuzzles into his neck.

Bucky puts his head on her and closes his eyes. He knew she was only doing this because she felt bad, but he didn't care, he just liked that Emma was touching him.

Finally, Tony swings the door open and Emma and Bucky stand up. Emma tries to peak past Tony to get a look at Steve, but he shuts the door behind him before she can.

"Tony?" Emma whispers and tears form in her eyes.

"He's going to be fine. He just needs rest. The doctor is finishing up now." Tony says and Emma falls into her uncles arm, grateful that Steve will be alright.

Emma looks over at Bucky who's jaw dropped in relief. Who knows what would've happened if Steve didn't make it. Emma stepped over and wrapped her arms around Bucky's waist, he leans into her embrace.

"He's gonna be alright." Emma whispers.

"I know." Bucky says and enjoys every moment of Emma in his arms.

Emma can't help but feel safe in Bucky's arms. It's almost the same as when she's with Steve, but a little different. She doesn't understand it one bit.

She pulls away and smiles at him, before walking away with Tony. Emma couldn't help but think about Bucky, even thought she was still worried about Steve.

Later that night, Tony finally let Emma go in to see Steve. He was still asleep but she sat by him all night in a chair and held on to his hand. She didn't want to let go again.

When she was with Steve, it was great and all she thought about was Steve. But, when she's with Bucky, Emma can't help but feel alive, in the best way possible.

"Hey." Bucky whispers from the door. Emma looks up to Bucky then at the clock in the room. It was 3 in the morning. "You need to get some sleep."

"So do you." Emma responds. "You're the one who went on the mission. I'm fine. I just don't want him to be alone when he wakes up."

Bucky walks over to the window behind the bed and stared off at the city in the distance. The lights were so bright and it made the skyline beautiful.

"Mind if I stay with him too?" Bucky asks.

"I don't mind." Emma says with a smile.  Bucky pulls a chair over to the other side of Steve's bed.

Bucky leaned back in his chair and kept taking glances at Steve and Emma. He could tell Emma liked Steve a lot, but he hoped Emma liked him too.
