The next day Tony started planning Adeline's Funeral. Since the compound was blown up, Tony and Pepper decided to come to their lake house for the service.

On the day of the service, everyone came in their best suits and dresses.

They all stood on the back lawn and Tony put a basket of flowers and a few pictures of Adeline out on the lake.

She woke up laying down on the ground, freezing cold. She sat up and wrapped her arms around herself in an attempt to warm herself up.

"Where am I?" Her bottom lip quivered.

"You, are on Vormir."

"What?! How long have I been here?"

"Ehhhh about 3 weeks."

"What?! I've got to get home! My dad must be worried sick." Adeline stood up and started to run off the mountain.

********

She got back to the compound only a few hours later. She walked in the front door and called out.

"Dad!!!!" She screamed "DADDDD!!!!!!" She screamed again. She ran into the dining room. "Oh my god... what happened?" Her hand gravitated up to her mouth. She looked out amongst the rubble. "I better check the lake house, just in case they went there."

She ran back out to the kitchen and grabbed the keys to Pepper's car from a bowl on the counter. She then ran out the front door and drove away.

She parked in the driveway and ran inside.

"Dad? Pepper?" She called out again. She looked around the house, and when she discovered no one was inside, she went to the back yard. She quietly stepped onto the back porch. It looked like a funeral. Everyone was facing the lake. She looked around until she found Peter.

She walked up beside him. She leaned over and whispered; "Who died?"

Peter turned to look and her and did a double take. "You did?!" His face was all scrunched up.
She laughed "Seriously, who died."

"Wha- you're supposed to be dead? What happened?"

"I don't know" she hugged him. Everyone turned in annoyance to see who was talking during Adeline's funeral. When they saw it was her they all ran up to her. "Hey guys!" She said cheerfully.

They all hugged her in disbelief. Her dad and Pepper were the last ones to hug her.

"How did you do it?" Peter asked.

"I don't know! I just woke up on Vormir and Red Skull told me I was asleep or whatever for 3 weeks, then I went to the compound and came here."

"We missed you. So much." Said Pepper.

"Awww I missed you guys too! Hey, did you guys by any chance see the message I recorded in case I actually died?"

"No what are you talking about?" Tony asked pulling away from her.

They went inside and sat down while Adeline played them her message from her helmet.

The machine whirred for a moment before it projected a hologram of her.

"Hey it's Adeline, I'm recording this message in the event of my untimely death. So! If your hearing this, obviously, I'm dead!" She laughed "Or maybe I slimy escaped death like a total badass and your all watching this for fun. I hope that, if I do die, that I died in a heroic badass way and hopefully someone was there to witness it to tell my legacy. But of course I don't want to die I just- it'd be cool to die like a badass. It's the American dream, right? On a more serious note, I would like to thank the people that are most important in my life. So thank you to; my dad for always loving me even though I know it was hard sometimes. And Natasha, I know it was hard for you having to leave Yelena behind so I thank you for always treating me like your little sister." There was a faint beep and a red light flashed on Adeline's face. "Oh, it just flashed a red light which means that I only have 5 minutes left so I'll try to make this quick. If this is playing at my funeral that means that all of you listening were important enough in my life to be at my funeral. And I want you to know that I love you guys, and I want to thank you for everything, I really really appreciate it even though I know I don't show it all that well. Thank you guys. I love you all so so much. Bye." The hologram glitches before it vanished. Adeline stood up.

After a while of catching up with everyone Adeline and Peter went up stairs to her room and they both laid down on her bed.

Peter hugged her. "I thought you were really dead."

"I know, I'm sorry about that."

"That's alright. So what happened? You know on the day you were presumed dead."

"Well, Red Skull told the two of us that someone had to sacrifice themselves so the other could take the Soul stone. I said that it wouldn't be hard to decide who had to die and I jumped. But she didn't like that idea very much so she threw down her grappling hook and held on my wrist. I told her to tell you and my dad that I loved you and I pushed off the cliff with my leg, then I fell down to the bottom. And you know the rest." Adeline smiled and Peter hugged her.

"I'm so glad you came back here."

"Me too. And by the way Peter, I didn't mention you in the message because Thor and my dad would never stop teasing me about it, I wrote you a letter instead."

"I know"

"What?"

"Yeah, uh its kind of a funny story"

"Oh yeah?"

"So, Natasha brought me up to your room back at the compound to tell me about your untimely demise as you put it" they both laughed "then she left and I stayed in your room for a second. I went over to look at your picture board thing"

"What is this a rom-com? Are you gonna break into a song like high school musical!" They both started laughing hysterically

"Close. I saw the note on your nightstand and I... I'm sorry. I read it. I know I shouldn't have but I didn't know what it was, I'm really sorry."

"Peter! Calm down! If I didn't want you to read it I wouldn't of put you name on it and I would've hidden it somewhere super cliché like under my mattress or something! If you hadn't found it and I hadn't died or whatever, I would've either given it to you or mailed it to you. So don't even worry about it." She laughed again

"Really?"

"Oh yeah! I promise you, you would've read it anyway."

"Okay." He turned his head and smiled at her. They both started laughing again.

"Remember when I died?!?" They both started laughing hysterically again.

Neither of them knew why they found it so hilarious but they did.

They were two fools in love.

Emphasis on the fools.
