jaemin was walking down the hallway on his way to the cafeteria when a certain purple-headed friend of his ran up behind him and put his arm around his neck, taking him by surprise.

"aera says thank you for the telescope."

this made jaemin smile. "does she really like it?" he asked, a gleaming smile spreading across his face.

"loved it," donghyuck replied, squeezing jaemin's shoulder. "how'd you know she wanted that exact one?"

the question had been on donghyuck's mind ever since aera said she'd been wanting that specific telescope. she never mentioned it to him, but when would she have had the chance to mention it to jaemin?

jaemin was also expecting donghyuck to ask this question, so he already kept his answer in mind. "she was rambling about it to jisung one night when all of us were playing games. i could hear it through his headset."

"you pay more attention to aera than the game?" donghyuck chuckled as he half-joked.

yes, jaemin wanted to answer, but he didn't, he couldn't. 

"ah, no she was being loud about it and i overheard it."

"i didn't hear her," he mumbled to himself, furrowing his brows and looking to his side.

jaemin ruffled donghyuck's hair and laughed. "you're always so concentrated on your games."

"really?"

he nodded and looked off into the distance as he put his own arm around donghyuck's neck. "you even stick your tongue out sometimes."

donghyuck suddenly removed his arm and pushed jaemin away, the both of them bursting out in laughter. "you've got to be kidding, no i don't!"

"you do!"

and they laughed and joked as they made their way down to the cafeteria for lunch. 

fortunately for jaemin, donghyuck didn't suspect a thing. he had no idea that jaemin was practically in love with his girlfriend. then again, who wasn't?

but jaemin was relieved that his friendship with donghyuck wasn't affected. he valued friendship above everything and he wasn't going to let a girl ruin it, even if she had completely taken over his mind, body, and soul. 

short little extra chapter today, just to show that they're still besties!
