The rain began to pick up, now creating puddles on the side of the road and making the wipers more frequently fly across the windshield. The only sound in the car was the light hum of the car's engine and the loud tires treading over puddles on the asphalt. Trees were now bare, and leaves were now decomposing on the sidewalks which were so lively with people during the warmer days.
George noticed all this over the drive, but he couldn't keep his attention on it for long. Clay's hand laid on top of his over the center console, giving light brushes with his thumb. It was ever so calming. George could only hope this would continue just as Clay could only hope for George to stay protected and safe.
"Hey, want to go over to my place? We can just relax, maybe watch another movie. I'm sure we can find something to do." Clay broke the silence, raising his hand from George's to better grip the steering wheel to turn. George nodded and hummed in agreement. It did indeed sound better than being alone for the rest of the day.

The two came up to Clay's house with a car already in the driveway. "Oh shoot, my mom is here. My sister might be home too if she's not at a friend's house again." He chuckled lightly and pulled into the driveway before turning the car off and turning to George. "Do you want to tell her about us, or do you want to keep this secret for a bit?"
George hadn't thought about parents prior to agreeing to be in a relationship with Clay.
What would my parents think? Would they think I only wanted attention? Would they even care. Not like they even pay attention anyhow.
"George?" Clay lightly poked him with his finger, "We don't have to if you don't want to. Just know at some point they will figure it out. My sister will probably be the first to notice something." He again laughed to lighten the odd tension that built up in the car.
"Umm, not yet. I guess I kind of forgot parents existed. Especially because mine hardly know me." George forced out a laugh while Clay nodded in understanding.
After a few seconds of gathering their backpacks, they left the car, already getting wet in the rain. So, they ran to the porch and barged through the door.
They laughed once they were in the house, forgetting of the possibility of two people being in the house. Not long after they took off their shoes and started walking towards the kitchen, were they stopped. A short-yet tall for her age-girl hopped in front of them, coming from the hallway.
"George!" She yelled before engulfing him in a hug. Even if the hug was ever so welcoming, George and his insecurities found it so uncomfortable. He must have shown it on his face with a very awkward smile, as Clay interrupted slightly pulling his sister off.
"What?!" she still had the snarky behavior that George remembered from months back. He laughed at the young teen who stood glaring at her brother. "See George thinks I'm rather nice!"
"Oh, come on now, Drista. I understand you haven't seen him for a while, but there's no need to attack him, jeez." Clay rolled his eyes at his little sister, soon walking past her, pulling George with him to the kitchen.
In the kitchen they were met by a nice woman, that being Clay's mom. She looked to be sorting some dishes, fresh from the steaming dish washer. George took a seat on one of the bar stools by the counter, waiting while Clay opened the refrigerator for something to eat. This alerted Mrs. Marshal as she jumped back slightly and dramatically clutched her chest where her heart would be.
"Goodness Clay! You scared me!" She let out a sigh of relief, looking around the kitchen. When her eyes came up on George they widened happily, "Hey George! Glad you're back! Are you staying for dinner tonight?" She greeted and asked George. She was one lovely lady.
