After unpacking, the couple decided to take a stroll down to the private beach to enjoy the sun. They welcomed for once, the heat the Fire Nation provided. Katara decided to layout and sunbathe while watching Aang work on his sandbending. Her sweet husband was making a sculpture of her on their wedding day. Not surprisingly it was coming along nicely and looked like her. Much better than whatever Sokka's creation of "Suki" was when they stayed here during the war. Once he was finished with her sculpture, he switched to what he wanted Air Temple Island to look like when finished.
Air Temple Island had been a dream of Aang's since they had visited it for the first time so many years ago. Just wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of what is now Republic City. Katara loved the temple idea as well. A place they could call home and help Aang rebuild the Air Nomads but still allowing him easy access to most of the world for his Avatar duties. If it meant more time with him, Katara would gladly live wherever. It was just a bonus to live so close to the rest of her found family as well. Sokka was happily living on the outskirts of Republic City with Suki, not accustomed to city life either. Toph was working on creating a metal bending police force alongside Suki's non-bending one to keep order in the city.
She was ready for the Temple to be fully finished. Their home in the city was nice and, on the waterfront, so the two waterbenders could indulge themselves whenever they wanted. Still, having the boundary of Yue Bay keeping politicians, reporters, and fangirls from trying to knock at all hours will be a relief.
Smiling as she stood up and walked over to where the sand air temple was being constructed, she complimented Aang's handywork. She ran her hands up his back to fold around his ribs to his muscular chest. She loved when he practiced any kind of earthbending. It took such physical strength it seemed and put him in strong positions so different from the light and quick moving ones of his airbending. Kissing him in between his shoulder blades and leaning against him she noticed he had started to sweat. With one last squeeze, she walked off into the water beckoning him to follow. He looked up at the loss of her arms around him and started walking towards her. She was his personal siren, and he could never resist.
Following his siren into the water, he marveled at her beauty in her native element. The way the water wanted to listen to her graceful movements always left him in awe. She was one with the water she commanded. He was grateful to just be in her presence whenever she was submerged in her element. He would be happy to just stare at her blissfully as she bent the water above her in a dance. This was a dance of two though, and his siren shared her water with him. He caught it above his head and formed it into the shape of a heart shrinking it down to be able to fit in the palm of his hand and froze it. He walked further out to meet her and gave it to her with a kiss on her forehead. Blushing, she grabbed the heart and held it to her chest as she looked up at him.
"Have I told you how happy I am you said yes to me? I am the luckiest man in all known time to have you as my wife," he complimented her as he pulled her in for a hug.
Smiling against his chest and a few tears falling down her cheeks she sighed in contentment. This is what she had been yearning for. Just being alone with Aang and showing one another what they meant to the other. He was everything to her and she was his everything as well. Together they could get through anything. For now, all they had to get through was walking back up to the house and taking a long, hot, relaxing bath.
"Saying yes to you was the best choice I will ever make sweetie. I am the luckiest woman in all known time to call you my husband, my benevolent Aang," she reassured him looking back up and giving him a peck on the lips. "Let's go inside and take a nice bath," she said.
Humming his agreement, he swept her off her feet twirling her around to his back. She squealed wrapping her arms around his neck and legs around his waist as he walked through the water onto the beach and up to the house. Only setting her down once they were upstairs in their bedroom. He put her on the bed and walked to the adjoining large guest bathroom.
