Chapter 40

As soon as Shrimayi woke up, she realised why she avoided drinking.

Her head felt like it was carrying tons of weight and thousands of hammers were hitting nails on some imaginary walls around her. Then came a shy wave of nausea but it passed quickly.

"Flowers for you."Her husband's voice rang through the bedroom. She winced in response.

"Please keep it down."She said clutching her head with both hands.

"Sorry."He apologized genuinely and handed the bouquet to her.

He lingered around the room to find out who it was from

He lingered around the room to find out who it was from.

She opened the envelope and confusion took over her features.

"Is it from Dev?"He asked in a non-chalant manner.

Although she had mentioned she didn't share her name with the stranger, Shreerang was still sceptical about it.

She was as drunk as a pirate last night.

Her personal information might have slipped off of her tongue due to her inebriated state.

The flowers in the bouquet were red tulips, so it didn't take her long to guess who had sent them.

They were her friend's favourite.

"They are from Urvi."She said reading the message again.

Sorry for being a b*itch. Next time you ditch me at the club M. XOXO
-Urvi

"Who?"He was confused.

"My friend. The one I went clubbing with last night."She revealed.

"Oh!"was all he could respond back.

"Who's Dev?"She asked as his earlier question rushed back in her memory.

"Dev who?"He said shrugging off his shoulder.

He turned around and pretended to grab a book from shelf so she wouldn't see him smiling like an idiot.

"Hey! If Urvi ditched me at the club. Who dropped me home?"She asked as soon as the headache subdued a little.

"You don't remember last night, do you?"He asked, a mix of emotions played across his face.

She shook her head.

"Did I drink-dial you?"She asked, panicking from inside.

This story wasn't going to get any better, she had an inkling.

"No. You just send me your location from some stranger's phone."He revealed.

"I did?"

He nodded his head in response.
