Shrimayi and Vasanti were ready to head out when the door bell rang.

As soon as the former opened the door,she let out an ear deafening cry. 

Everyone in the living room was alerted upon hearing it however Shreerang was the first one to get up and dash towards the entrance.

He halted suddenly, almost skidding on the floor.

It was none other than Gauravi.

His sister-in-law.

She was now walking towards all of them,arm in arm with her cousin.

"Shrimayi beta you scared me."Vasanti said, still clutching her racing heart while her husband shared the same sentiment.

"Sorry Kaku. It's my fault. See I have such effect on people."Gauravi bragged.

Then she proceeded to smirk at Shrimayi. The latter slapped her cousin lightly on the cheek in return."Why didn't you tell me you were visiting Gotya?"

"Because it was a surprise Taya."She said in duh voice.

"Kaku can i get something to eat? I am starving."She asked turning to Vasanti all of sudden.

"No."She replied, while looking a bit displeased.

Shrimayi and rest of the family members were surprised due to Vasanti's unusual behaviour. The latter soon realised it.

"Not until you start calling me Mai. Kaku is so general. I am your cousin's mother-in-law after all."She demanded, smiling.

Gauravi pulled her cheeks as if she was some kid"You are so cute."

Shrimayi narrowed her eyes at her cousin,as if telling her to behave and not pull off any antics but the latter was never the one to get affected by that look.

"What?She is."Gauravi said instead.

"How did Netra Kaku allow you to travel alone,all the way to Pune?"Shrimayi enquired.

"She doesn't know i am here. No one does."Her cousin replied in casual manner.

"Gotya are you out of your mind?"

"I mean she knows I am in Pune. But she doesn't know I am here at your place."

"You are confusing me."Shrimayi said.

Shreerang was watching their interaction,bemused. The bond they shared was definitely special. The picture he saw of their vacation on his wife's phone, vouched for it already.

He wasn't really close to his own cousins as they never bothered to stay in touch with him that much.

"I am here for an intercollegiate competition. The moment i heard it was being held in Pune, I volunteered."Gauravi said with a sheepish smile.

"When is the competition?"Shrimayi asked.

"Oh! It started a while ago."Her cousin replied without a care in the world. She was busy in devouring the Idali-sambar Vasanti had served her.

"And they wouldn't need you?"Shreerang asked out of curiosity.

"Jij is that you? Sorry i couldn't see you behind all that beard."She joked.

"Your nickname really suits him."She whispered to Shrimayi and realised she was way too loud while doing it.

Shrimayi slapped her arm immediately.

"Shut up."She whispered trying to avoid the look her husband was giving her.

"Let me guess. Caveman?"He said in a dry humour.
