A/N: Mentions of verbal + child abuse from mentally unstable parent.

A/N 2: Melissa is already divorced and has been for over a year. Also I realized there is a way that the Stilinski's could have had those financial troubles despite having life insurance so I'll be including that somewhat this chapter though Noah is going to resolve it. Also please don't comment saying it isn't realistic for what happens (calls & letters) after Claudia dies to happen. I can personally assure you from my own experience after my mom died that it does happen and people truly are just that assholey (for lack of being able to think of another word) since I was helping my dad sort everything, answering calls, and so on despite being in school. So please don't start with me on that because it is a sore topic and it does piss me the hell off.

Approximately 2775 words of pure chapter. I hope you guys enjoy the chapter.

The Morrigan

Figure from Irish folklore, in modern Irish is known by Mór-Ríoghain which translates to  'Great Queen' or 'Phantom Queen'

The Morrigan is mainly associated with war and fate, but especially with foretelling doom, death or victory in battle.

She is frequently depicted as a goddess of War and Death (Death's Keeper).

Soul marks are a rare phenomenon (A/N: at least amongst regular humans) that usually appears at the age of 14 or when one interacts with their soulmate (face to face) for the first time if they had more than one or hadn't been born yet by the time the oldest was 14. Laws have existed since the 17th century to protect soulmates and ensure they cannot be separated unless they themselves choose to be. While a soulmate is a perfect match it has been acknowledged since the late 1800s that trauma and mental disorders can change a soulmate and for this reason the bond is capable of being broken however it is warned that once broken it is broken forever and can never be healed.

Their have been several cases in which despite having lived within the same town soulmates have never met due to living in separate schooling zones or even simply never running into each other. This has become increasingly more common since tattoo parlors opened as not all soulmarks are filed within the SM database, which prevents tattoos of a soulmark from being made (Soul Law 31 subsection 4). It has also become more difficult for matches to find one another since covering one's mark has become commonplace in order to prevent any duplicates from being made and some even using makeup to cover the mark so that they may form other relationships if they feel they will not find their match. Matches can be found either by seeing the soulmark or by physical touch which causes warmth to flare within the mark.

A soulmate is considered to be one of the greatest gifts that could ever be received. As such even if a member of the bond is previously married due to not finding their match earlier on in life or being contracted to marry another the marriage/contract can be declared null and void without forfeiture of any funds, property, and so on on the part of the bonded. Any child born from such previous marriages is retained by the willing party, usually the bonded half, or whomever the child chooses to remain with.

While uncommon it is not unheard of for soulmates to have a large age difference, the largest age gap currently recorded having been 60 years. However it is also known that in the case of large age gaps, the oldest of the soulmates can be de-aged anywhere from 5-30 years. It is only amongst those with an age difference of 20+ years however that one would see more than a decade removed. De-aging will ensure the one being de-aged maintains whichever level of fitness was better and will heal any and all damage done in those years. In one case there was a man who met her soulmate while working as a nurse after he had become wheelchair bound months beforehand and when the de-aging was completed a week later (de-aged 7 years with a 15 year age difference) he was capable of walking again despite doctors stating it would be impossible.
