What if Rose Potter was killed by her husband Ron shortly after having a child? What if Death gave his Mistress a second chance at life? What if that second chance was in another supernatural world born to parents who were seemingly normal? Born Pie...
It's the first day back at school after the winter break and I have a new, err . . . newer, car that I managed to buy at the police auction for $22,475 which was less then half what I'd pay at a dealer for the basic model rather then one with all the bells and whistles like it had. The price having been reduced so much despite still having its original warranty and less then 25,000 miles on it because it had been used in a drug deal that ended in murder and auto theft. Fortunately the inside of the car was not where the murder took place nor was it used to transport the body, the druggie having somehow gotten the idea of putting the body on the roof rack which was what had gotten him caught.
Regardless my Blizzard Pearl White 2009 Lexus GX470 had heated ivory leather seats, a cream interior with matching all-weather floor mats, shiny dark wood trim, a sunroof, fog lights, a brand new heavy duty roof rack, front bumper guard, AutoStart remote keyless entry, parking assist, back-up camera, removable third row seating, a navigation system, Bluetooth, and an entertainment system with DVD player. A bit of rune work carved into the framework made it solid enough to ram into a steel beam without a scratch and capable of driving twice as long before filling up so long as she made sure to charge them every 3 months with blood magic.

Mostly, I was just thankful death could not be scented and that any other odors like the slight smell of sweat, various drugs, and other bodily fluids were gone with a couple potions that were used to give the entire car a deeper clean when it had been gone over by professionals. The potions had basically worked much like a bug bomb and left the interior looking and smelling completely new and untouched. For three hours the potion, originally created by magical zoologists working with various territorial animals, produced a fog that sought out and destroyed any odors. A few hours later a different potion was used which released a fog designed to work much like a high-powered Scourgify (dissolving any food, dust, insects, and human genetic material). Magic truly is a wonderful thing.

"Mel! Scott's still sleeping and I'm gonna be late on the first day back." I yell from the kitchen as I finish making breakfast and packing our lunches, looking at the time again I lightly growl my annoyance knowing that if I had to wait for him I really would be late meeting the others in addition to Peter having left in the middle of the night without waking her or even a note.
"Just go without him Nikki." Mel tells as she walks in and serves herself some coffee. "Thanks for breakfast." She says with a side hug and a quick kiss to her temple. "Get going I'll make sure he gets himself to school, maybe it will teach him to get up on time." I give her a look and she grimaces. "Yeah, I don't think it'll happen either." Mel gives me a look over and circles her pointer finger and I give a twirl in my red, navy, and cream plaid dress with tan thigh high suede boots. "Preplanned first day back semi-matching outfits?"
