We enter the giant black cloud, and everything starts shaking uncontrollably. I let out a yelp as my leg gets jolted around. Reg looks over at me worriedly, but I try to ignore it.

“It’s okay,” He says grabbing my hand, “I’m right here.”

I just nod and shut my eye, hoping if I squeeze them shut, everything will just disappear. It only lasted about 5 minutes, but it felt like an eternity.

“See, I told you,” He said smirking at me. I looked out and saw what boat he was talking about earlier, it was huge. We land on the large flat area and people are rushing about. Slivko undoes each of our belts and climbs out and runs around to help me.

“Can someone get her a stretcher!” He yells over his shoulder. Almost immediately a small bed on wheels appears and he gently lifts me onto it. A couple of people push it into a bright hallway then into a white room.

“Sir, we are going to have to ask you to leave,” A woman says to Slivko trying to push him away.

“Please let him stay,” I said looking at her absolutely petrified. She sighed but gave up.

“Fine, but if he gets in our way, it’s your leg, not mine.”

After that, everything was a blur, they put something on my face then I passed out.

My eyes open slowly, trying to adjust to the bright lights. They finally do and I sit up to see I’m in a different white room, wearing different clothes. I look up at the sound of the door opening to see Slivko walking in with a cup in his hand.

“Oh, when did you wake up? I hope I wasn’t gone for long,” He said setting down his cup and sitting in a chair beside my bed.

“No, I just woke up, but where am I?” I asked groggily laying back down.

“Oh, you’re in one of the hospital rooms, we are still on the ship,” He said, “Are you hungry? I could go get you something from the kitchen.”

“Yea that would be nice. Thank you.”

“No problem. I’ll be right back,” He said walking back out the door, closing it behind him.

I sit back up and move the sheets off me to look at my leg. They wrapped it in a white bandage and it surprisingly didn’t hurt. I swing my feet off the side of the bed and slowly stand up. Putting pressure on that leg sent a wave of pain up my leg, so I put all my pressure on my left one. I do a weird waddle across the room to a mirror and look at myself.

I have a large bruise on my shoulder and many small cuts across my body. My back is multiple shades of purple and I have many scars from the past, each with a story of its own. So, to sum that up, I look like shit.

I walk back over to the bed and sit down right as Slivko comes back in with a tray of food.

“Were you walking?” He asked sitting next to me.

“Yea, the pain is bearable,” I said looking at what was on the tray. It looked like a piece of meat with something surrounding it and some weird golden straws. “What’s that?”

“Have you never eaten a cheeseburger before?” He asked genuinely shocked.

“They don’t have that on the island,” I reminded him.

“Right, well I’ve been craving one since I got there, so I got us both one and some fries,” He said picking up one of them and taking a bite and I did the same.

“Oh. My. God,” I said staring at it, “It’s the best thing I’ve ever tasted!” He just laughed as I devoured the rest of it. He handed me a fry and I ate it as well, savoring the taste.
