A few days later...
It was the wedding day, ishita came home expecting purvi to be ready, only for her to get a shock worth of thousand volts.
'purvi!' yelled ishita, at the carelessly sleeping bride.
'arre kya hai, yaar maa!' responded purvi nonchalantly, pulling the sheet closer to her chest.
'unbelievable!' remarked ishita, as she pulled sheet away from purvi, as she woke up like an innocent child who wants to sleep rather than getting ready for school.
'kya hai...' she replied.
'time dekha hai! You are not even ready, we are supposed to be leaving, and you are sleeping! Pagol na mathakharap!' yelled ishita as she take a look of the room, where this emergency bridal makeover would have to be done, and the place was so not equipped for it.
'arre kyun chinta karti ho karti ho di...everything will be fine..' stated purvi so casually, just getting ishita more riled up,
'purvi teri shaadi hai aaj! What is wrong with you!'
'arre pata hai mujhe...' replied purvi, only when she finally came to earth again from the dreamy sleepy world, she too reached on ishita's panick wavelength.
'oh my god, it's my wedding day!' she exclaimed.
'i know right...' said ishita sarcastically as she shook her head.
***
'arre itna nervous mat ho..' consoled dushyant as kavin had asked him for the 10th time how he was looking.
'arre kaise na ho? This is, huge! Meri sirf shaadi nahi ho rahi hai, main baap bhi banne waala hoon!' replied kavin.
'i'm sure tu bahaut acha baap banega...' remarked dushyant so casually as he just shook his head.
'yeh aapko joke lag raha hai?' said kavin as he shot a death glare at his brother.
'no, no, no, this is very serious...' replied dushyant, in the most non-serious way possible.
'bhai!' exclaimed kavin as his glare got more intense.
Dushyant's light chukle faded away, as he moved towards his brother, placing both of his hands on his shoulder with his gaze fixed on him.
'kavin, yaad hai jab tune company join ki thi, kitna argue karta tha independent projects ke liye...' recounted dushyant, as a little smile came on kavin's face as he remembered that day.
'and phir pehle project pe excited bhi bahaut hua, but phir workload bhada, challenges aaye, and phir tu ek point pe convince bhi ho gaya ki kya tu sach mein yeh sab kar bhi sakta hai ye nahi...' continued dushyant, as kavin nodded.
'and you were successful...' stated dushyant.
'and i was not at all surprised, but you were, because tu bahaut underestimate karta hai apne aapko..but just like i knew than, i know now, ki mera bhai jo bhi karega, bahaut acha karega...'
Kavin smiled with the trust his brother put on him, and that was enough to give him the confidence, that no matter what, he'll do his best. That faith was exactly what he needed.

The sight of her reflection in a bridal look made it too real for purvi as it was sinking in, that this is it, she is really getting married. Ishita, sighed in relief, as they managed to be still on time. But she was quick to notice that there is something going on in purvi's head, and as someone who could never keep her thoughts to herself, she was quick to put them out there,
'di, jeeju kaise hain?' she asked, only for ishita to look at her as if she had gotten an out of syllabus question in the exam.
'purvi, yeh...' fumbled ishita, not knowing what to say.
'nahi matlab, aap shaadi mein khush ho na?' purvi shooted another question in the blink of an eye.
'Bahaut ache hain woh, aur main khush hoon, bahaut pyaar karte hain mujhse, jaise kavin tumse karta hai...' assured ishita, as she knew that what purvi really wanted to know was would she be happy in her marriage.
'maine kab kaha kavin mujhse pyaar nahi karta...of course karta hai woh...isiliye toh hum shaadi kar rahe hain!' said purvi, as when she heard her own words, she realised that all of her worries were in vain.
Ishita smiled at purvi, as she not only knew her sister very well, she also had been in her place, so she knew...
'ab chale?' asked ishita, as purvi nodded in agreement, this was it, she was getting married, and she was not scared.
***
Purvi reached the gurudwara with a few worries in her head, as she remembered how her own parents ended up,
'what if it's us too?'
The thought brought a knot in her stomach, as anxiety kicked in, but when she saw kavin waiting for her, all of those fears didn't matter, she was going to be with someone she loved, and who loved her, nothing else mattered.
Kavin too was getting very aware of the fact that he might make mistakes that hurts their relationship, but when he looked at purvi, he took a leap of faith that whatever comes their way, they'll figure it out.
And with that faith and trust, they took the vows of a holy matrimony that would bind them for life, good times and bad times, they were ready.
***
Purvi surprised herself at how much she cried by the thought of leaving her mother, as she found it so difficult to leave the embrace of her hug and more difficult to just stop crying.
'ab kaun mere sar mein dard karega!' said her mother, crying even more.
'ab mera dimaag kharab kaun karega!' said purvi, as she hugged her mom even tighter.
'hayee, kitna kalesh karti tu!' said her mother as she cried more loudly.
'aap bhi kitna sunnati thi!' said purvi, as she cried more too.
But, soon, they pulled themselves together and separated, only for her mother to turn to kavin,
'beta, iski na baaton ka kabhi bura mat manna, tu-tadak aur galiyon ke baad bhi,dil ki buri nahi hai.' She said as kavin just nodded obediently.
'khush raho..' she gave her blessings as kavi touched her feet before leaving.
suddenly, ishita got a text on her phone by her friend kriti:
'did you just quit today?'
