Chapter 14

Digi, Volt, Grimm, Scar, and Venom slipped through the trees. "Dang it!" Venom said. "You're so lucky, Digi! You had an entire demon murder party with Grimm while the rest of us were snoozing in dumpsters!"

Digi chuckled. "It actually felt pretty good to be fighting the creatures that have hunted human kind for so long." He said.

Grimm smiled slightly. "You fought well tonight, Digi." He said. "I was pretty impressed."

Digi smiled. "Thanks, Grimm." He said.

Suddenly, he saw something move in the corner of his good eye. He turned his head, his eye widened when he spotted a slender young woman with pale skin and long midnight blue hair. Her eyes were completely black, except for the pupils of her eyes, which were indigo. She wore a black sweater and jeans, and black sneakers. She also had black horns that stuck up and curved towards the center of her head slightly. She grinned when her eyes met his, revealing sharp teeth.

Digi rubbed his eyes and took another look, but she was gone. He shrugged and kept walking. Must be my imagination. He thought.

Digi glanced around at the massive forest that surrounded him, the trees had no leaves, and their bark was black and brittle. The sky above was pitch black and starless. Where am I? He wondered.

A feminine laugh echoed through the trees. Digi whipped around, but there was nobody there. He reached up to turn on his heat sensor, only to gasp in shocked disbelief. His left hand... Was normal. He quickly felt around his right eye, his eye was back as well. He felt his chest, metal plates no longer replaced his flesh, which meant there were no wires and cables keeping him alive.

"Well, now I know where I am." He said, looking up at the forest. "I'm dreaming."

"This isn't any normal dream, Digi." A female voice whispered in his ear.

He spun around, only to come face-to-face with a pair of black and indigo eyes. He yelped in surprise, the young woman grinned and launched herself at him. She pinned him to the ground and sank her sharp teeth into his left shoulder. Digi yelled in pain and tried to push her off, but her grip was too strong. She yanked at his shoulder, the sound of tearing tendons could be heard. Digi screamed in agony as tears began pouring down his face. The demon unhooked her jaws from his arm and turned to look at him. She chuckled and licked a bit of blood off of her lips.

"Sweet dreams." She hissed.

Digi shot up with a terrified yell. In an instant, Volt jumped up to the top bunk, a scared expression on his usually emotionless face. "Digi?" He asked. "What's wrong?!"

"THERE'S A FREAKY DEMON LADY TRYING TO EAT MY SOUL!" He cried.

Fear flashed through Volt's eyes. He quickly crawled over to his panicking friend and hugged him tightly. "Shh... It's alright, calm down." He said reassuringly.

After a few minutes, Digi stopped trembling. He looked up at his friend. "She's after me." He said shakily. "I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me when I saw her in the forest, but she's here."

The door suddenly burst open, revealing Grimm, ScarFace, StarBurst, Piccolo, and the rest of the Gang. "What's going on?" Grimm asked.

Volt let go of Digi, quickly returning to his emotionless self. "We're being hunted." He said.
