After breakfast, Venom led Digi and Volt upstairs.
"Volt, you're going to need a weapon for fighting demons." He said. "Luckily, I'm very experienced in forging weapons."
"What about me?" Digi asked.
Venom glanced at Digi's robotic hand. "I think I could change your talons." He said. "I could make them sturdier and sharper than those iron ones, if you'd like."
Digi nodded. "Sure!" He said.
They walked down the hall to the very last door. Venom pulled a key out of his pocket and unlocked the door. Inside, weapons of all kinds lined the walls. There were scythes, claws, knives, swords, and many others. Venom grabbed a pair of steel whips off of the wall, he handed them to Volt.
"Do you think these would work?" Venom asked. "Since you can use electricity, I think it would be useful to be able to shock demons and injure them from a long distance."
Volt smiled slightly, sparks flew across the whips as he let loose some electricity to try it out. "Perfect." He said emotionlessly.
Venom grinned, then turned to Digi. "May I have a look at your claws?" He asked.
Digi nodded and extended his left arm. Venom inspected the claws, mumbling things to himself about the size and sharpness. Then he looked up. "I think steel claws would work better than these iron ones," He said. "It'll take me a couple of hours to make them, I'll get started right away, alright?"
Digi nodded. "Alright," He said. "Thanks, Venom."
Someone knocked on the door, Ivory opened the door. "Hey Volt, Digi!" He said. "Grimm wants to see what you guys can do, he's waiting outside in the backyard."
"Okay," Digi said. "Let's go!"
Ivory led the two boys out of the room and down the stairs, then he led them through the kitchen and out the back door. The backyard was mostly just a small clearing in the trees that surrounded the mansion. Digi glanced around, there were a few trees scattered around the clearing, but no sign of Grimm.
Where is he? He wondered. Oh, I see....
He reached up and pressed a small button on the side of his eye, everything turned green and blue, except for a single red spot on the other side of the clearing. He ran to the other side of the clearing with Volt following close behind, towards the red dot. He walked into the trees and found Grimm standing on a large rock.
"Good job." He said, jumping off the rock and silently landing in front of Digi. "I was wondering if you would be able to find me."
Digi smiled slightly. "We're smarter than you think, Grimm." He said.
"I can see that." Grimm said. "But how are your reflexes?"
Suddenly, Grimm whipped a knife out of his pocket and lunged at Digi, who quickly caught the knife with his robotic arm before he could get stabbed and kicked Grimm backwards. Grimm stumbled a bit, but quickly regained his balance. Then he lunged at Volt, who dodged out of the way and swung his whip at Grimm. The whip wrapped around Grimm's ankle, Volt yanked the whip, tripping Grimm and causing him to fall flat on his face.
Grimm stood up and wiped the dirt off of his face. "Well done!" He said. "I'm impressed, it seems that you two know more than I previously thought."
He smiled slightly. "I think that I should start training you two right away." He said, then he turned and began to walk deeper into the forest. "Follow me."
"Training us for what?" Volt asked emotionlessly.
Grimm glanced over his shoulder. "Training to become a demon slayer, of course!" He said.
