the past week has been awful.

as february began, your friends have been pressuring you to start dropping hints. every day. they gave you a reminder whenever they saw you.

"did he say anything yet?"

"anything new?"

"are you gonna talk to him about it?"

those were the regular questions. you were at least glad they weren't pressing you to ask him out. days began passing, nothing happened though.

the time began to eat away at you. only three days into the month and you barely focus.

"hey."

you nearly jumped out of your seat at the sound of bokuto's voice. you'd finished most of your work, but instead of getting the last bits done, you'd been staring off into the corner trying to figure out when you were going to get asked out.

"you okay?" bokuto sat down, his concerned eyes conflicting with his warm smile.

"just thinking," you mumbled. you sighed, fixing your posture and beginning your work again.

tuesday, february 9th - 5 days until valentine's day.

six days of anxiety have passed. nothing, nothing, and more nothing. you've been zoning out more often, getting lost in your thoughts easily. if this clueless boy was about to miss his chance, you weren't sure how you'd cope. the doubtful thoughts racked your brain every so often.

maybe he doesn't even care.

i guess he doesn't like you that way.

he probably already has a valentine, huh?

you knew it couldn't be that plain and simple. he wouldn't hurt you like that. you could trust him that much.

you were having a sleepover at tsumugi's house, it was non-negotiable. the two of you watched a movie while she ranted about boys and school. you listened as you often do. of course, your mind still ran wild behind the scenes, a flurry of questions that still refused to leave. your phone buzzed in the middle of her sentence.
