"You fat bitch, get off the counter"

A loud plomp sounded from the cat jumping onto the ground.

It was yet another Friday, and Akari's uncle decided that he wanted his nephew to open up shop today. Yup, a 13 hour shift was in his forseen future. He, to his own disappointment, brought Dr.Pickles once again to work with him. Luckily  he was the only one in the building at the time as the cafe didn't open for another 30 minutes at 8am. Cat Day wasnt suppose to start until 12, but he wasn't allowed to go back home to pick up the meatball, so he was forced to bring him here. And boy did he regret it.

Getting the equipment ready, and babysitting a 15 pound chunky cat that thinks he's only 8 pounds was a busy thing to do. Dr.Pickles would jump on the kitchen counters where food was made, so Akari had to scoot him off, and reclean them for the uptenth time since he walked into the building. Although he was busy with said cat, and getting coffee brewed and  water for tea boilded, the scent of freshly baked muffins filled his nostrils. This was one of the only reasons why he agreed to open the store. Getting to make muffins, and smell them when they come out of the oven was the best thing ever. But the thing was...

He didn't even like muffins. The breakfast cupcakes weren't his favourite so he stuck with a breakfast sandwich from the fast food place down the street. Dr.Pickles on the other hand, absolutely loved them. Akari had went as far as to make him his own mini muffin to get him to shut up and to stay off the counter(which explains why he's 18 pounds)

The teen's alarm gad went off after he finished putting the muffins on the pastery rack in the front. 8 o'clock had hit, and it was time to open.

To his surpise, not that many people came within the first few hours. The occational regular would come in, order a coffe, pet Dr.Pickles(who somehow managed to sneak his way onto the front counter to get attention) and leave. So in other words. It was fucking slow.

"Well, I guess I have to take your picture for employee of the week again." Akari mumbled, sipping in his french vanilla cappuccino. He pulled out the Polaroid camera from under the front counter and snapped a picture of the cat. He somehow managed to fit himself ontop of a stool that wasn't even remotely big enough to accommodate the cat.

He looked at the picture, scowling before taping it under the Employee of the Week sign.

A few minutes go by before the door to the cafe dinged.

"Afternoon Akari!" The cheery voice made the teen cringe

oh dear lord.

" Heyyyyy... you"  He sounded uniterested, which he was. Whenever this girl came, she would always make it her unintentional duty to annoy him. He forgot her name the second time she came in. He's not really good at remembering names of the people that annoy him to the point where he wanted to rip his hair out.

"I can't believe you still don't know my name! How mean" The girl pouted, her pink hair swaying as she crossed her arms.

"Tough luck, pinky." He got up from his stool, going to the coffee machine, pouring a cup for said girl. "Creamer with a drop of coffee, the usual?"

"You got it." She sounded chipper. "Can't believe you know my order but not my name."

"Oh pity." He rang the drink up on the register. "Give me your money."

"You could've said please. Now i don't want coffee" She huffed giving him the stank eye.

"Too bad, I made it already."

"Joking, joking." She gave him the amount that she owed, having memorized how much it was as she came every friday at the same time for the past year.

"Thanks boo." She took a sip, coming behind the counter to sit by Akari where Dr.Pickles used to occupy. The white haired teen wondered where his chubby ass could've gone to, but pinched the bridge of his nose as he forgot it was cat day. ." I really needed this. I'm so exhausted!"

"How come? you literally don't even seem like you done anything but walk here."

"Shut up. I had that high school entrance exam today. I thought i was going to die!"

Oh right. She was one of those people. He nearly forgot. Not that he wanted to remember anyways.

"Well, good job I guess."

"Do i get anything?" She said hopefully.

"I'll try to remeber your name."

"I guess that's good enough. I'm Mina Ashido! And I'll come by everyday and make you remember!"

how lovely.
