(8 years ago) "How are you holding up kiddo?" My mom asked. "I don't know" I answered. As much I would like to say I'm dying inside. "I'm so sorry for your loss" Aunt melody said. "Chaos has been strong" My mom said. No I wasn't. "We will put the past behind us" My mom told me. I nod hopefully. "I'm ready to go home" I said. My mom nods. "We will in a minute" my mom answered. "Is it okay if me and Jace join you for dinner?" Aunt melody asked. "Of course!" My mom said. "Wonderful" Aunt melody said.
*7:00 pm*
"Chaos Aunt Melody and your cousin Jace is here, did you do all the stuff I asked for?" My mom asked. "Yes mama" I answered. "Hi" Jace said. I despise Jace sometimes. "Hey" I answered. "So what did you make?" Aunt melody asked. "I made some pasta and soup" my mom said. "That's wonderful" Aunt melody said. I think she really likes the word wonderful. I let out a little giggle. Jace looks at me for a sec and then looks back at the food. "Come eat you guys" Aunt melody said. Jace nods. I nod as well. We sit down to eat.
No one talked for a moment. "So are you guys planning on moving over here soon?" My mom asked. "We don't know yet"'Aunt melody answered. "I mean you should move your a single mom, you know what I mean?" My mom said. "Well yes I know what you mean but I met someone" Aunt melody said. I hope my mom doesn't find a man. "Tell me about him" My mom said. Aunt melody smiles. "His very handsome. Very nice. He has fun personality" Aunt melody said. "He seems like the guy for you" my mom said. Aunt melody smiles again.
We stay silent for 5 minutes. We're almost done eating. "Is it okay if we stay here for one night?" Aunt melody asked. "Of course, stay as long as you need too" My mom answered. "Thank you so much" Aunt melody said. "Mama?" I asked. "Yes?" My mom asked. "I want to move to New York" I said. I always wanted to go there. I don't want to live in la the rest of my life. My mom looks at Aunt melody. "I guess I could think about it" My mom said calmly. I smile. She usually smiles back but this time she didn't.
We finish eating. "Chaos can you clean up please?" My mom asked. I nod. "Jace help him" Aunt melody said. Jace nods. Me and Jace clean up everything. "How about you boys get ready for bed" My mom said. We both nod. "Why do you want to move to New York?" Jace asked. "I don't know, I just don't want live in la the rest of my life" I answered. "Or you just don't want be here because your dad died" Jace said. "No stop. That's not true! Also don't bring him up" I snapped. Jace rolls his eyes. "Sometimes I can tell what your thinking" Jace said. I gave him a weird look but I didn't say anything.
We head to bed. Jace was already fast asleep. I wasn't. I couldn't sleep after what happened...I couldn't imagine a life without my dad, I guess I have to now. My mom says put the past behind me, it's hard...how can she just tell me that, what about her? She loved my dad so much. What if she finds a new man to love? I can't let that happen. I hope one day I CAN put the past behind me.
*8:00 am*
Me and Jace get up and eat breakfast then we both get dressed. Aunt melody and Jace start a packing up to go home. "Thank you for having me" Aunt melody said. "Of course. I'm going to miss you" My mom said. "I'm going to miss you too, hopefully we can see each other again one day" Aunt melody said. My mom nods. Jace gets in the car. So does Aunt melody. I see them drive off into the distance.
*2:37 pm*
"Chaos come here please, I need to tell you something" My mom said. I come running down the stairs from my room. "What is it?" I asked. "So I've thought about it for a while now and I think I want us to move to New York! So I found this nice house" My mom said. I smile. "It's a really nice house" I agreed. My mom smiled at me. "When are we moving there?" I asked. "Well first we have to sale are house to someone" My mom said. "Oh" I said. "I will take care of it. I will tell you soon the day we move" My mom said. I nod.
*The next day*
"Chaos" My mom whispered. I wake up. "Yes mama?" I asked. "I already sold the house" My mom said. "Wait really? Cool! So when are we moving?" I asked. "August 9th" My mom said. "That's a month away!" I said. "Yup" My mom agreed. Finally we're going to be moving out of la. I'm not saying I hate it here, it just doesn't feel right anymore to live in la. Most if it's because I don't want to live in la the rest of my life and also I want try to put the past behind me.
Few hours later me and my mom start packing.
*august 9th*
It's the day we move! I can't wait. A new start!! I'm so excited! Hopefully everything will be fun there.
