Diana's POV

I stood, panting, after doing combat training for around half an hour. I dropped the knives on the floor, as I untied my hair and left them open, massaging my scalp with my fingers.

Damn, its so freaking hot in here.

I looked around, hoping to find any window which I could open but I suddenly heard a voice behind me speak.

"This is underground princess. No windows." I immediately recognised that voice. I whipped my head around, as I saw Jake, his arms folded over his chest, as he leaned against the wall, a smirk plastered on his face. I looked at him, raising my eyebrow.

"Yes, thanks for reminding me that but, what are you doing here?" I asked him, confused as to why was he standing there, in the middle of the night, watching me practice.

"I was up. Couldn't sleep then saw you come here so followed." He said, shrugging his shoulders. I narrowed my eyes at him, furrowing my eyebrows.

"And you were here watching...?" I asked, as I tilted my head, my eyes never leaving the male standing in front of me.

"The entire time." He said, smirking. "And I must say princess," He said, as he walked towards me, a playful smirk running on his face. "You are really good with your moves." He said, as he stopped, as soon as there was almost no distance between us.

"First of all," I said, as I looked up a bit, looking him right into his eyes. "Don't call me princess because I'm not one." I spoke softly, anger evident in my voice, as I bore holes in him. He let out a dark chuckle after listening to my words.

"You make me laugh princess." He said, as he grabbed my jaw harshly, staring right into my soul with his deep brown eyes. "Such anger. if you were someone else, I would have killed you right away for talking to me like that." He said, as he released his grip on my jaw, but his eyes never leaving mine.

"Why didn't you kill me then?" I asked, as my breath hitched after realising the close proximity between us. He chuckled again at my question.

"You are too precious for that, Diana." He spoke softly against my ear. "You remember the day you challenged me? We can have that now if you ready, princess." He said, as he walked away from me, standing at a distance, leaving me and my heart which was beating really fast.

"Yes, I am ready." I said, as I slowly nodded, unsure whether I was actually ready or not.

What the hell Diana?! What's wrong with you? Where is your confidence? Don't show him that you are flustered.

"Great." He said, a playful smirk plastered on his face. "We are going to fight with bare hands. No weapons allowed." He said, as he went towards the bench and removed his t-shirt, leaving him in a black men's tank top. My eyes widened.

"You mean melee?!" I asked, shocked at what the black haired male said.

Oh god, I'm not so good in that like I am with my knives...

"Yes princess. Any problem?" He asked, smirking. I shook my head, as I picked up the knives which were lying on the ground and made my way to the table, placing them on it. I tied my hair up into a messy bun, as I made my way to the center of the room, standing in front of Jake.

"Ready?" He asked, as he took his position.

"Always." I said, smirking, and I attacked. I lifted my leg, determined to kick his face but he moved, pushing my leg away with his left hand, as he tried to punch me with his right. I dodged the punch, as I turned around and kicked, but he was a bit too fast for me.

"Go on princess. Tell me when you want to give up." He said, smirking, as he tried attacking me with kicks but I dodged them just in time.

"Dream on." I huffed, as we continued to fight.

Author's POV

Both of them were indulged in their fight, as the clocked ticked by. The entire house was still asleep, unaware about the two people fighting in the practice room.

"Jay was right. You never fail to surprise anyone." Jake said, as he dodged an attack by Diana. Diana smirked, as she turned around, kicking Jake on his chest, which he immidately blocked by his hand. "Faster." He said, as he attacked Diana, soon, managing to pin her on the ground.

Diana's POV

"You are not good at melee, are you?" Jake asked, as he held me down on the floor, his face looming over mine, as we both panted for breath. I tried to remove myself from his grasp, but he was too strong. In the end, I gave up trying.

"No." I said, as I gasped for breath. "I'm not good in this as I am in archery and with combat knives." I said, as I looked at him, my chest heaving up and down. A smile ran on his lips, as he saw me admit.

"You know..." He said, as he brought his face closer to mine. "There was something which kept on distracting me." He spoke softly, sending shivers down my spine, as he stared right into my eyes. I looked at him, confused as well as surprised.

"What?" I whispered out. He looked at me for a few seconds more and then his eyes trailed down to my lips.

"These..." He said, as he touched my lips softly with his index finger, then suddenly crashing his lips onto mine. It took me a few seconds to comprehend what was happening but soon, I kissed back. He kissed me desperately as if it was his only contact with this world.

"You said you are not any princess." He said between the kisses. "But you are mine. You are my princess. And I can give up my world for you." He said, as he snaked his hand behind my head, pushing it up to deepen the kiss. Soon we pulled apart, as I let my head fall back on the ground. Jake bent down, so that our foreheads touched each other.

"Damn, I can't believe I fell for you so quickly." Jake said, as a smile ran on his lips. I chuckled at his words, my eyes closed.

"I thought you would never say that." I said, my chuckles turning into laughter. He raised his head, looking at me, confused as well as surprised.

"You didn't hate me all this time?!" He asked, shocked. I started laughing really loudly, as I nodded. "I thought you hated me!" He exclaimed loudly, loud enough for others to hear.

"Jake quiet! Everyone is sleeping now." I said, as I tried to contain my laughter but failed miserably as Jake had a really cute and confused expression on his face. "Why the hell did you think that?" I asked him, still chuckling.

"I- never mind." He said, shaking his head, as he started chuckling along with me.
