"It's Team Free Will 2.0. With two salty hunters, one half-angel kid, a dude that just came back from the dead again and the special addition; a tinker-"
"What? No buzzer this time?"
"Uhu, buzzer sounds unmelodious. You don't."
"So you've finally...

"You're lying", those two were the only words that left my mouth when I finally recovered from the bomb Aillard Everhart dropped on me.
"I don't know what game you are playing, but it won't work, you won't succeed!", I yelled the last part trying to put on a brave face but it didn't match my dreadful state or my tone as fresh tears spilled over from the corner of my eyes.
The man's expression hardened. "I have been called many things in my life and liar isn't one of them."
I scoffed in disgust. "You lied about everything! You're trying to mess with my head. If she was alive, she would've come for me. But she didn't because you killed her. You took her away from me!"
"Don't raise your voice, girl!", he snapped, voice cold as ice and the air around us. "I told you before, I don't take disrespect well." He took a step toward me and I couldn't help but cowered away, scurrying across the leafy ground I was still glued on.
My action made him sighed as if he regretted being too harsh on me, but I knew better than to fall for his act. He approached much slower this time, crouching down in front of me, he grazed the back of his cold hand along my cheek– trying to wipe those fallen tears off my face.
"I didn't want you to be afraid of me, Fayre but you aren't giving me a choice here.", he murmured, tone much gentler than before.
"Why are you doing this? What do you want from me?", I whispered, the words were barely audible. I just wanted to pretend this was a dream. A very bad dream; a nightmare that was going to end once I woke up.
But I was awake and living every moment of this misery.
I turned my face up at him, his gaze was still locked on me and this time it wasn't full of malice. It was pity which I found. He kept staring down at me in silence and when he spoke again, I knew everything he said was true.
"It was never about you, Fayre. You're only a poor soul that was caught in the middle, condemned to sacrifice from the very beginning. But you were spared, and now someone else has to pay....pay the price for each breath you take."
I blinked rapidly, staring at him in shock was the only thing I could do as he continued to speak.
"But I don't blame you.", he admitted. "It was my daughter's choice to keep you alive, so she has to deal with the consequences. But that doesn't mean I won't play dirty. I want her to kneel before me and if killing you can finish the job, I will do exactly that without having any second thought." With that he looked away, turning his back to walk out of the place.
