"Thanks for helping out so much. We never thank you enough. You're always there when we need you," I said and gave a smile.
"Aww! It's fine. Don't stress over it. Jonathan's my grandson. Therefore, I'll take care of him. He's just like Techno. Just like how Techno was. Um... Why don't you go tell Techno to take Jonathan out today and I'll tell you some stories?"
"Yeah. Sure," I nodded and went in. "Techno, I have a request for you."
"What now?" He asked jokingly.
"I want some me time today. Why don't you go take Jonathan out today? Do whatever you two want. Go to caves or go check out party island..." I said.
"I'll take him to the ravine," Techno said after a bit of thought and silence.
"Ravine?" Jonathan asked, skipping down the stairs and standing at the doorway to the living room.
"Mh-Hm. Let's get some food into you first." Techno lifted Jonathan and set him on the tall chair, serving him some food. He took him out after they packed their bags and Jonathan finished his food. "Don't bother with dinner. I'll take him out to eat or something," Techno told me and I nodded.
"Thank you," I said and he gave me a kiss. I gave it 5 minutes after they left and went to Phil's place.
"Ready for a story that might change your view of Technoblade?" Phil asked with a deep breath, sitting at his kitchen table. He had me sitting in front of him so I knew it was probably a very serious matter.
"Ready," I said.
"Let's start with when I found him. See, Techno believes his real parents were piglin. He believes that they left him in the nether, but he... doesn't know the real truth. His real parents, no one knows who they were or are. They left him in the nether at a young age, so some piglin found him and raised him until he was around 3. Then we all started building in the nether. They found it dangerous and left him as they ran away. That's how I found him and took him in. He was a happy kid growing up. But then something happened when I took him to the nether. Something clicked. I think memories of his piglin family came back and he... he changed. He got more violent. That led to anarchy since he just hated people in general. It made no sense. It makes no sense. I guess he just likes being the top fighter. He like being independent and wants others to rely on him. It's too late to get to him now. He won't change his mind or anything. He won't change how he acts. That's at least... somewhat changed when he met you."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I'm sure he's already told you that you've changed him for the better, blah blah blah. He's not just saying that, Scarra. You wouldn't know because you're just used to him acting differently whenever he does. But I've lived with him longer and known him longer than you. I've seen him stay the same heartless person through the years. Or at least he acts heartless while things really bug him inside. Yeah, he's still a dick to others, but he's... he's nice to you and Jonathan. Not just because he's your husband and he's a father now, but because he's actually expressing some sort of emotion for the first time in years. He's not used to it and, frankly, neither am I. But he's really in love with you, Scarra. I can tell." I gave a small smile and Phil gave a full one. "What do you say we go for a little adventure? I need totems and Ranboo's been on the hunt for them. Need to get them before he does." I nodded and we got up. Phil and I went far out for a woodland mansion and stood outside. "Okay, kill everyone that doesn't drop a totem," Phil said. I let my mist go in and kill. There were sounds of the vindicators dying inside and their grunts. My mist wiped out all the vindicators and mobs, leaving the totem guys.
"Okay. Ready?" I asked him.
"Ready." We went in and went to separate floors. There was the sound of metal clashing everywhere. The ground shook every time spikes were raised and I was getting annoyed by the flying phantoms. I checked the hidden rooms and went to the third floor. There were a few evokers there and I took them out with my trident. I made sure there was no one left and headed to the ground floor to meet Phil. Phil and I met up at the front and set the mansion on fire to mark we had been there. We headed back to our houses and set the totems on Phil's table. "How many do you want?"
"I'm fine with two." I headed home and Techno came back with Jonathan who seemed really happy. He ran up to his room as Techno stood next to me. "What happened?"
"He killed a creeper and got excited," Techno said. "And how was your day, my fair wife?"
"Good."
"What did Phil tell you? I know you hung out with him, Scarra."
"He just told me stories about your childhood." Techno sighed and looked at me.
"Don't bring anything up. Nothing," he said.
"Okay. Okay," I said and he went up.
"Don't lie to me, Scarra. We're too far in a relationship for that."
"I know. I just thought it wasn't important or that you'd get upset that Phil was gonna tell me your childhood stories."
"I'd never get upset at you. My childhood is just what it is."
That night, we laid in bed and stared at the ceiling. "I'm happy with what we have," I let out.
"Me too. I, the heartless, anarchist, war-craving man found a family that I'm happy with. I'm... happy." I looked at him and smiled. He looked at me and took my hand slowly.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you, too," he said. "We're gonna make this family work and we're gonna raise him better than I was raised. Promise to stick with me through it?"
"Okay. I promise."
