A little complicated / Janet x Katrina

Evelyn and Natasha/Katrina's P.O.V.

How did they find me? I dropped off the grid. Never got social media. I did anything I could to never be noticed. I didn't want to have to disappear again. How was I going to explain moving to Misha and Sergei? How was I going to leave Janet?

I looked at one of my oldest friends. She looked back at me with a smile.

"Girls meet our two new employees. They'll be working with us for the next little while. How about you two introduce yourself and tell us something about you?" Amy suggested sitting down beside Karen.

I was half expecting Zasha to tell everyone about the girl I was. The girl I tried to escape from.

"Hello. I am Natasha. I do not do meeting new people well. I know how to speak other languages." My mouth almost fell open. She seemed as if she didn't remember me. Galina stepped forward next.

"Hi. I'm...uhh...I'm...Evelyn. I love photography. It's one of the most beautiful things in the world in my opinion." She was using the name we'd created together. The name we used every time we needed to use fake names.

"Hi girls. It's just lovely to meet you," Carol told the girls. I knew Zasha would not like Carol. She was way too friendly for her.

"It's nice to meet you too. What's your name?" Galina asked her.

"I'm Carol. This is Karen, Janet, and Katrina." Carol gestured to each of us. Zasha's face hardened when she saw me.

"привет." I waved at her smirking. Trying to make her think I had the upper hand.

"What?" Zasha asked.

"That means hello in Russian," Sergei told her. She smiled at him.

"Oh, are you her son?" Her eyes glanced between me and him.

"Yes. I am Sergei, this is my twin Misha. These are our friends Diamond, Buddy and Texas. This is our new sister Riley. She is the daughter of Janet. Oh and that's Karen and Hunter." I couldn't help but shake my head at him. Why did he think me and Janet were a couple?

Galina smiled at me and Janet. I smiled back.

"Anyways let's get to the activities for today." Amy took the kids to the kids to the other room for arts and crafts leaving the parents to dit and chat.

"So? You two? For what it's worth I think you two are an adorable couple." Carol told us.

"Oh...no. It's not...we're not." Janet tried to explain. Something in my heart hurt. It didn't make sense. It wasn't like I had feelings for her or something.

"If you two do get together it would be really cute." Amelia chimed in. Amy came back in and I felt so relieved. She then took Zasha to the back to help with the children. I internally groaned. I didn't want to talk about Janet and me.

"Hey guys. Amy thought I should lead a feelings circle." Galina suggested taking the seat next to Amelia. All the girls nodded but me and Janet both groaned.

"Even I hate gay since God hates it but I'm pretty sure that it's a couple thing if you have the same reaction to things." Karen snickered.

"Let's start the feeing circle. Carol do you want to start? What did you do during the week's break?" Galina or Evelyn asked looking through the room. She found the rain stick Amy usually used when doing sharing circle.

"I had a week off from Buddy and Texas. They went to stay with their Dad. I ended up watching cheesy romcoms, doing chores, meal planning." Carol shared passing the stick over to Karen.

"I went to a park and some dogs were trying to hurt Hunter. When I talked to the owner she said that 'it was a dog park so if Hunter was scared of dogs he shouldn't be there.' The audacity she had!" Karen finger quoted. We all shook our heads at her. She was being what I'd come to know as typical Karen.

"Give the stick to Janet," I ordered. She groaned but passed it over to her.

"I didn't really do much. As you guys probably could have guessed Riley insisted on watching Frozen again. I swear she's in love with that movie. Misha and Sergei spent their time reading and playing chess with each other. Me and Katrina chilled out, watched tv together." Janet told everyone.

Everyone began talking with each other for a while whilst I sat back listening to Janet.

"Katrina I need your help. After this can you come over to help me with some bees. There's a nest on my house. I'd ask Buddy and Texas' Dad for help but y'know he's my ex and it'd probably be awkward." I remembered my first time living alone. It had been silent, frightening, horrible.

"Yeah." I tapped Janet on the shoulder. She spun to face me.

"Could you take the kids home?" I asked.

"Yeah. Where will you be?" She asked.

"I'm going over to help Carol with bees. Thank you." I touched her arm softly. She was the person I was the most gentle with in my life.

Daycare had ended so I was heading home with Carol. She had told me she'd drop me off at home after I helped her.

"Katrina. Can we talk to you?" Galina showed up beside me. I held up my hand out for Carol to know I'd be a bit. I walked away with Galina.

"I'm...it's nice to meet you." Galina played with her blonde hair. Her nervous tick.

"It is, isn't it?" I nodded at her.

"That was all. Your sons seem nice. Let's go Evelyn." Zasha told Galina grabbing onto her. She walked away with her. Maybe they were trying to make their lives better. Maybe they really didn't want to be involved in the drama anymore. Maybe I could have some of my friends back.

I think I might have to stop updating two times a week for a while. I hope you all had a wonderful week. Also I am so happy about Kris confirming that Katrina is queer. Now all we need is Janet coming out.
