After Carol and Katrina had left with Diamond, Buddy and Texas I was trying to get the kids in the car. Mostly Riley was the problem. I had to strap her into her frozen car seat. Misha and Sergei were always very easy to handle. When it came to car seats they flat out refused to use one.

I heard someone shout from behind me so I turned around to see Evelyn and Natasha.

"Hi, Janet right? I was hoping to ask you out to dinner. Turns out both me and Natasha are both new to this neighbourhood. You can invite your wife and kids too! They seemed really nice," the shorter one, Evelyn said.

"Yeah, do you guys have cellphone numbers?" I asked walking towards them. Natasha and Evelyn both pulled out their phones. We exchanged numbers and I headed back to the kids. I took them back to our apartment. They began to play with legos while I made the four of us some lunch. I knew Katrina wanted the kids to be mature with making their own lunches but I couldn't help but make them lunch.

"Kids come get lunch," I shouted to them. They got off the floor to come plate their lunches. I waited for them to be finished. They talked about some show they were watching. I think it was called she-ra or something like that. I wasn't really paying attention.

Once they finished we all left the table. I cleaned up the kitchen but before heading towards mine and Katrina's room I looked at the kids.

"I'm gonna go take a nap. Take care of each other. Don't get into too much trouble." I turned walking into our room. I needed to get a good sleep if I was going to be ready for tonight.

I was lucky not to have been woken up by Riley. I had to say there were a lot of benefits living with Katrina, Misha and Sergei. I couldn't decide which was better, not having to see an idiotic pile of trash in my house every day or Riley not waking me up. Both were nice.

Instead I was woken up by the sound of Katrina's voice. I couldn't help but think that I could get used to being woken up this way. With the sound of my best friend's voice.

"Someone got some beauty sleep. I mean not like you'd need any. I mean you were already looking good today. Not that you're not pretty every day. You are. I'm not gay or something. Totally platonic love here." Katrina joked with me. Of course she wasn't gay. She was as straight as a line.

"The girls we met today, Natasha and Evelyn, they invited us out to dinner. Turns out they're both new in town. We should go," I told her. She nodded at me.

"We should. We need to know what they want from us,"  Katrina joked. I laughed along.

"We need to get ready. I'm going to text Evelyn and Natasha then go get the kids dressed." I typed the address of the nearest McDonald's.

I headed into the hallway to see the kids snuggled up on the couch. A weird theme song was playing in the background of the kids snoring.

"Misha, Sergei, Riley. You need to wake up. We're going out for McDonald's." That woke Riley up.

"McDonald's! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! We're going to get chicken nuggies!" Riley screamed. The boys opened their eyes seeming wide awake.

"I'm going to go pick out nice clothes for each of you," I walked into their shared room. I pulled out a tie dye blue dress for Riley. For Sergei I pulled out some blue jeans and a pink top. For Misha I took out his black sweat pants and a shirt saying chess master. I laid them each out on the bed then headed back to my room.

I walked in to see Katrina changed. She was wearing a black v-neck and a pair of ripped jeans. On our bed she had laid out a plaid shirt and black leggings.

"I thought picking your clothes could save us time. I'll leave you to get dressed," I smiled. Katrina had been thoughtful to pick my outfit. I dressed quickly heading out into the hallway.

Katrina had already made the kids put in their shoes.

"You ready?" Katrina kicked my shoes down the hall. I pulled on my running shoes. Nodding, we left our apartment.

"Hey, sorry I'm late, glad to see you guys are already here. How was the rest of your day?" Evelyn had showed up a few minutes after Natasha.

"Meh. I helped out with getting rid of Carol's beehive. Came home to see this one," Katrina wrapped her hand around my back. "Sleeping. Guess she needed some beauty sleep. Although she definitely doesn't need any. I think she is beautiful enough." I glanced over at her to see her with an actual smile. I couldn't help but chuckle. She was smiling. Everything about the woman who had her arm wrapped around me was amazing. I couldn't believe I was lucky enough to have this girl as my best friend.

"How long have you guys been married?" Natasha bluntly asked.

"It's not like that. She's married. To a man." Katrina and I both said at the same time.

"Oh so you guys are having an affair. I thought you two both seemed sweet and innocent." Natalie smirked.

I laughed and Katrina muttered something in Russian under her breath. We chatted for a bit. The kids chatting with each other and occasionally jumping in with a comment. I felt Katrina's hand still softly wrapped around my back. She glanced behind us and her nails began to dig into my back. It was Destiny, Roger's girl.

"Please, I really want to have some fun tonight," Katrina cracked her knuckles and whispered to me.

"Hey." All of us look up from our conversations to see Destiny standing in front of our table.

"What? Here to insult our moms again. I'll save you from having to talk. Katrina loves drinking too. Mommy calls me names like the spawn of Satan. Katrina doesn't live with her husband anymore. Enough information for you to make a snarky insult or do you want more?" Riley gave her a horrible death glare. I began to laugh.

"I was actually going to apologize. I was out of line. I'm...ugh...sorry."

"I'm new to this conversation so what exactly are we talking about?" Natasha inquired.

"So like I slept with her husband and now he's like my boyfriend and stuff. I also called her names and like talked about her behind her back." Destiny rolled her eyes at Natasha. She shrugged it off and nodded along.

"What are you doing here anyways?" I asked her.

"Roger. He wanted me to pick up McDonald's on my way over or something?" She shrugged.

"Roger never let me have McDonald's. Said that I'd get fat. That McDonald's was something no woman should ever eat." I confessed. Destiny looked down to the ground then back up at me.

"You are seriously not going to let me rip Roger limb from limb?" Katrina asked.

"No. There's people out there who would be affected by Roger's death. His parents even though they don't really like him, Riley, Destiny." I rubbed Katrina's back and she softened up.

"Yeah. Roger he's my...boyfriend. I wouldn't like it if he died." Katrina gave her a quizzical look.

"What's a girl like you doing with a guy like Roger anyways? He doesn't have a good personality, he's pretty ugly, and it's not even like he's rich. He'd have to be very smart for me to even think why either of you would go for him." Katrina turned to look at Destiny.

"Hey kids. What are you guys talking about?" I wouldn't go back in time to change my drunk hookup with Roger. I might change marrying him but I wouldn't change having Riley for the world.

"What about you Destiny?" Katrina asked her again.

"I need to get going. Maybe I'll see you guys around another time." Destiny sashayed up to the counter.

"She seemed nice," Evelyn whispered once Destiny sashayed away. We chuckled chatting until it was going to be Riley, Misha and Sergei's bedtime.
