I hadn't been to the house since I had found Roger cheating on me with Destiny. It looked the exact same but felt like an entirely different house."Hey, look at me, we'll do this together. We'll do everything together. I'm here. I'm right here Janet," Katrina stood beside me squeezing my hand. I nodded heading to the steps of the house. I sat there pulling out my sketchbook.
Ever since leaving Roger I had started to draw again. I used to put my art above everything else in life but I guess that's why I ended up working as a hair dresser and marry Roger.
Don't get me wrong, I liked my job, I really did, but the idea of going city to city with my art sounded much more amazing.
Katrina spoke but I was too focused on my art to look up. I nodded getting back to sketching the man's shadow. I smiled ear to ear at my drawing. If only my life could consist of working on my art, coming home to see Katrina and the kids, it would be the absolute perfect life.

The trees were the hardest part of drawing. The leaves had to cover a lot of space but not too much to cover all the sunset.
I heard a loud noise from behind me. I jumped, my pencil drawing straight through the sunset. I turned around about to snap at Katrina to see her with an absolutely terrified look.
"Mou...mou...mouse!" She shouted. I shook my head.
"So the rough and tough Katrina's scared of a little mouse?" I laughed. She glared but nodded. I headed inside to see a little tiny mouse on the floor. I shouted at Katrina to grab cheese while I looked for a small enough container.
Once I found one I placed it on the ground along with the slice of cheese Katrina found. We waited till the mouse went to grab the cheese then closed the container to let him out. Katrina screamed when I went to the lawn and opened the container.
"You know you're adorable right?" I covered my mouth. "I'm so so sorry!"
"It's alright, I liked you calling me adorable. You're adorable too," Katrina blushed. "I didn't really get to see the thing you're working on, mind if I look?" Katrina asked wondering over to the stairs. Before I could respond back she picked it up looking over it.
"It's not much. When you came out it made me jump and accidentally draw a line in the sunset." I walked over to where she was standing taking a seat on the second stair. She sat down beside me placing an elbow on her knee to prop up her head.
"It's beautiful Janet." She paused for a moment giving me a smile unlike her usual ones. Usually she'd give a smug smile after saying something sarcastic or one when she wanted to kill someone but this one, it was different, more real. "You're beautiful."
We both start to lean in almost pressing our lips to one another's.
"I'm here!" Carol shouted. Me and Katrina sprung apart.
"G'day mates," Dylan greeted us hopping out of his truck.
Katrina crawled over to me. "You invited the Aussie bartender!" She hissed.
"He has a name you know. Please try to be nice Kat!" I begged her. She nodded when two other cars rolled up. The doors opened to reveal in the first one Natasha and Evelyn. The second was not someone I'd been expecting.
"Destiny?" I asked.
"Wasn't that the name of in appropriate language the female dog who Roger cheated on you with?" Destiny started laughing.
"I guess that's fair but in my defence I didn't know Roger was married," she replied. Carol turned around with a little blush.
"H...h...hi I'm...I'm C...Carol," Destiny grinned.
"Hello beautiful. Knew my charms worked on guys didn't realize I was good enough to get female attention." Destiny winked leaning on her car.
"Didn't know Carol was gay," I whispered.
"I mean I don't usually hang out with straights I thought this mothers group was a rare occasion. I'm glad there is another queer walking amongst our group though," Katrina laughed. I started to internally panic in that moment thinking Katrina knew I was gay.

Earlier that morning Katrina had gone out for a run. I'd told her it was supposed to get hot but she hadn't listened to me, instead she threw on a sweater.
While I stood there packing another box into the U-Haul me and Katrina rented I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She had a box placed in the grass while she was taking off her sweater. I wiped my lip to stop myself from drooling, what was Katrina doing to me?
"See something you like?" Carol asked jumping out of the truck.
"I...I...abs," I stuttered. She laughed.
"I know right? She's so hot. Do you want to go wipe the sweat off of her abs?" Carol gestured to where Katrina was now standing in a dark green bra, she grabbed her blonde hair putting it into a messy bun. Her abs were perfectly toned.
"I'm not even officially divorced yet! As if she'd ever even be into a mess like me! Even if she is what if she's just like Roger?" I asked.
"Is it really that? I think you're scared Roger cheating on you was your fault even though it was not in the slightest.. You're terrified that if you're correct about that the same thing will happen with Katrina. Janet, you know Katrina isn't like him right? You should be open with her. Tell her how you feel, maybe there might be a chance she likes you too." I sighed nodding my head.
"Since when have you been bi or pan or whatever was going on with you and Destiny?" I smirked. She hit me in the shoulder.
"Katrina! I need a break! Help Janet out would you?" She smiled in a petty manner. I glared at her before busying myself with the boxes.
"I'm grumpy that you're moving," Katrina confessed.
"We'll still see each other every day." I replied. She nodded.
"Yeah, I guess. I kind of felt like we had something no one else could share though."
I fought back the urge to say she's right. I knew Carol said I should be vulnerable and tell Katrina about my feelings but I couldn't. Something in me told me it wasn't the right moment.
"We've already loaded a lot. Soon I'm going to have to go." I blurted out.
"We have two more boxes left." Evelyn popped up beside us.
"Thank you." I smiled. I was thankful she had been there to interrupt us. I turned to look at her and saw Destiny struggling. Me and Katrina ran over to help her. We reached her as the box slipped from her grasp lifting up her shirt.
Katrina swooped down catching it with a single hand. I saw Destiny pull down her shirt but before she could I spotted a beautiful butterfly tattoo.
"I love that, I always kinda wanted one." I admitted.
"Thanks." She muttered. I saw Katrina's eyes on the tattoo.
"What's that?" Katrina asked.
"A live butterfly. What do you think?"
Katrina lifted a puzzled eyebrow at her. Then she shook her head huffing.
"It reminded me of someone. My mistake." Carol walked over to us heaving the last box.
"Let me get that for you." Katrina took the box from her.
I pulled out my phone. Ten minutes until I had to get my sister.
"Thank you all for helping me out today. I have to get going but I'll see you guys tomorrow for drinks," I smiled at the group before driving away.
Sorry for the long break I decided to finally write a bit more! I will periodically drop a chapter or two but I currently cannot commit to writing this book as I am very busy with other things.
