"Janet, you need to get up," I heard a soft whisper in my ear. A smile spread across my face with their soft whisper.

"Mm...no." I moaned back.

"C'mon Jan. It's your first day back at work." She began to shake me a bit. I yawned out before rolling over again.

"Baby. Come back. Skip work. Stay in bed with me." For a moment there was peaceful silence. That was until I realized that I wasn't dreaming anymore. I was talking to Katrina who was my best friend, she wasn't my wife. I didn't have to go back to work because of our honeymoon, it was because I had taken time off because of Roger. I quickly climbed out of bed.

"Sorry. I wasn't talking to you when I said babe. I was dreaming about Roger," I lied through my teeth. She nodded back. She had stayed there standing awkwardly. I opened up our closet grabbing the first shirt and pair of pants I saw.

I heard the door close over when I came out of the closet and had guessed Katrina had left me to change.

I pulled on a camouflage top and a pair of heigh rise beige pants. I headed out to make myself breakfast.

"Mommy Kat who's taking us to school today?" Riley asked from the kitchen. I began to rush to the kitchen when Katrina answered.

"I will. Janet has her first day back at work since... everything. She's also going to be picking only you up tonight because you two are headed to your Nona's tonight. I checked over your snacks for lunch today and you need some healthy food. Misha, pass her some of the strawberries," Katrina shouted from the kitchen.

"Morning guys. Slept late. I need to get going to work it's..." I glanced down at my phone quickly. "Seven thirty! I have to go!" I ran down the hallway.

"Janet. I made breakfast. Here." Katrina threw an egg sandwich in a container before I rushed out. I of course, wasn't going to eat it but was thankful she had made one anyways.

I made it one second before work started. I entered the mall's salon with a huge smile. I spotted Janelle chilling out on her phone. She was the least annoying of all the girls at the salon.

"Hey Jan." I took the seat beside her.

"Hi Jan. Where've you been?" Janelle asked still staring at her phone.

"Around. Me and dumb husband are getting a divorce," I told her.

"Finally! You said you guys were fighting so that's good right?" She glanced up from her phone turning to glance at me.

"Yeah. It would be wonderful if the reason we were getting a divorce wasn't because I came home to a girl named Destiny naked in our bed," I chuckled. Janelle's mouth fell open.

"No way! If anything I thought you'd be the one to cheat on him. From the photo you showed me of him he seemed...to be a unique choice." I laughed at that.

"I forgot to tell you didn't I? Kasey was fired. The company hired a girl already. Rumour has it she used to work at a club if you get what I mean." Kasey had been the worst of the girls working in the salon with us. I just hoped the next person would be nicer than Kasey.

We waited for our clients to arrive. My first was a young girl name Mia who usually came in once a month to get a new colour.

"See ya." I waved at Janelle getting up to walk over to her.

"How's biology going Mia?" The first part of my job was welcoming my customers. I usually did that by asking about something I already knew about them. I knew Mia had been struggling with biology because her professor kept giving her a lot of work.
