Jasmine's P.O.V
I should run away to Alaska and change my name to Harper.
Right now, I was at the cafe near the central park where I had asked Anthony to meet me. Nervousness has engulfed me entirely, and moving away to Alaska seems like a good strategy at the moment. Maybe if I could fake my death, then perhaps I would escape this awkward situation. Vivian was right; I should have brought her along.
Right when I was going to make a run for it: "Hey Jas, you look amazing!"
I heard Tony compliment as he sat down in the chair in front of me.
He raised my hand to his lips and placed a small kiss on my knuckles, and gave me a wide smile. Ignoring the disturbing feeling in my stomach, I slightly pulled my hand from his hold.
Tony smile wavered a bit at this, but he didn't say anything. Instead, he continued: "I'm so happy you're here. In a week, I get to call you my wife. I'm so excited, Jas. Finally, after everything, you'll be mine." he proceeded to reach for my hand again, but I immediately pulled away and placed it on my lap.
Okay, this is harder than I had anticipated it to be.
"Tony we need to talk." I said, finally mustering up some courage.
Tony's eyes lit up enthusiastically: "You're right. We need to talk. Our marriage is a week away, and there's literally so much to do. We have to arrange the venue, cake testing, your wedding dress, our honeymo-"
I cut him off.
"Tony I can't get married to you." I sputtered. You have to do this, Jas. Don't be afraid.
"Jas, did you say something? I almost thought you said you can't get married to me. What am I saying? You must have said you can't wait to get married to me," Tony started laughing.
Is this guy deaf?
"Tony I said we can't get married. I'm marrying someone else." I finally disclosed.
His eyes widened in shock.
"WHAT? Is this a joke, Jasmine? What do you mean you are getting married to someone else? Is Scarlett asking you to prank me again?"
"No, Tony. I'm getting married to someone else on the day we were supposed to be married. This isn't a prank. I'm telling the truth."
Tony's eyes darkened.
"You fucking bitch! You played me all this time, haven't you? What about the contract I made with your greedy mother? You signed it, right? That means you basically belong to me." he yelled, grabbing my hand, gaining the attention of few others nearby.
I've never seen Anthony this mad. He had always been sweet and caring and had never raised his voice even when Scarlett and Kristen mistreated him.
"Tony, the contract you made with my mother only said that I have to marry the man of her wish. It never specified your name. Nevertheless, my mother revoked the contract and is letting me marry whomever I wanted. I'm sorry I knew you loved me but I love Nate." I lied. Maybe if he hated me, I'd feel less guilty doing this.
"You fucking whore! You cheated on me the whole time, haven't you? You acted as if you were so innocent and that you had never had a man's company, but it was all a lie. You were a slut from the beginning. You really thought I loved you? Well, guess what, princess, all I wanted from you was your brain and your body, and since you weren't willing to give it to me before marriage- I talked to your mother and told her to threaten you with your sister. You think so highly of yourself, but guess what, you are nothing but a gold digging-good for nothing slut." he spat at me as tears flowed uncontrollably from my eyes.
