Ch6- A Prank well Played

Jannat POV

Bhavesh: (grinning evilly at the plan which they both had come up with)

Jaan: Siddharth is going to pee his pants!

Bhavesh: (nodding as they sneak to the back of the house while everyone starts to go to sleep)

I find the girl who was with Siddharth earlier, hurrying down the corridor. I watch her go into a room and sneak into the back of the building to her window. Bhavesh opens it slightly and we put a dim light projector through the hole, facing the walls of the room.

The girl lies on the bed and we play a video. It's a video of some sorta polka dance which looks like the dancer is stabbing herself, but it's just a dance move. We play it on the ceiling in a way it looks like shadows.

Bhavesh gives me a thumbs up as he starts to pay the vid. I watch as the girl stares at the shadows and her face goes three shades of white (if that's even possible).

Bhavesh and I almost burst out laughing as the girl gets up and tip-toes out of the room, almost trembling in fear.

I do feel kinda bad for the girl, but she'll never know it's us, so whatever!

Now back to the plan.

For this part, Bhav and I tip-toe to the second floor which is empty and comparatively less lighted- just perrrfect for a prank!

Bhavesh conjures up his phone from his pocket and tries to find that crying sound audio which was on youtube while I take out a pack of fake blood I had kept since last halloween just for this purpose!

The room was already old and the metal bed has been rusted since forever, giving the blood the best bloody smell.

Bhavesh and I share an evil grin as he starts to play the audio, hiding the phone behind an old cupboard. We hide behind the large rusty bed, waiting for our prey- poor desi Siddharth and his new girlfriend!

After about five minutes of grimacing at the gross smell we almost give up, but that's when we hear the footsteps. They're coming!

I hear the both of them enter the room as both Bhav and I pork from behind the bed.

I hear the girl say 'something doesn't smell right' and then as though this prank was destined to be played, Siddharth steps in my puddle of fake blood.

'I think I stepped on poop or something' says Sid and Bhavesh and I have to hold our noses to stop ourselves from laughing.

I find a small white cloth on the side of the bed and the girl sees it fly across through the mirror. We watch her freeze and back away from the room, dragging Sid with her.

'We need to go' she says and Sid states something about washing his leg.

They walk out of the room giving us just the right amount of time to change the audio. Bhavesh runs up to the cupboards and changes the audio into soft giggles.

We hear screams from the washroom down the corridor, probably meaning that they figured out that Sid stepped on some red stuff.

We hear them run across the corridors as if they're lives depend on it.

The both of them run down the stairs and Bhav gives me a high five.

A prank well played is... a prank well played.

Avneet POV

It's Eight in the morning and the rain is pouring down on me as I wait for my dad to take the car out of the parking. Siddharth stands next to me and after last night, my entire disbelief in the supernatural and ghosts have changed.

Ghosts exist.

When my dad stops the car in front of us, my mom hops and I do too, giving Siddharth one last understanding wave as we drive away.

Today, I make an oath to myself- I will never step foot in that house again!

After a two hour drive in the rain I realize that today is the first day of the second year at college! And my first class is in 2 hours!

I hurry into the shower after throwing a few glares at that idiot Jai and reminding him that he has to do whatever I say. After scrubbing myself down with the new soaps that I hadn't noticed before, I put on a blue shirt with a soccer ball drawn on it.

That reminds me, this year I will get into the soccer team! I just know it! Afterall, with these amazing skills that I have, I could actually get into international level soccer- I should be playing next to Virat!

I stuff a bunch of books and clothes into my suitcase before neatly stuffing a dress and a makeup palette in, closing the zip.

I put on a pair of sneakers, not bothering to tie the laces as I hurry out the door.

Avu: BYE MOM! BYE DAD! BYE DUMN BROTHER!

Mom: bye Avy, have a good (Avu runs off) day-

The bus! It's leaving! oH NO.

I scream at it from a good distance away as I watch it's door close.

WAIT!

But it doesn't wait.

I run after the bus, which only seems to speed up even faster as I shout at it. The rain pours down on me, making the hairs stick to my now drenched body.

Mumbai rains are the worst kind of rains! Wet, and warm and gross- and did I mention wet?!

My bag feels heavier now than it did a few minutes ago but I ignore it as much as I can and keep running, the next bus stop now in sight as I run towards it.

The bus stops at it's next stop and I run towards it as if my life depends on it as the driver starts making last calls and finally hears my screaming as he stares at my pathetic running and tells me to hurry up. I AM HURRYING!

I'm just about to reach the door, just one last step- but disaster strikes. I trip on my untied laces.

I trip and fall with full force onto the hard, not-so-smooth, wet and muddy Mumbai street. Right in front of a bunch of people sitting in a bus and an annoyed bus driver.

I somehow drag myself to the bus and sit my soaked self onto a seat.

My clothes are ruined, my bag is a ball of wet papers and my hair is stuck to my in every way possible.

The perfect word to describe my first day of a new semester at college- fun.

Vomment!

I'll try to write more often, been awfully busy recently.

I'm making the chapters short on purpose, so maybe I'll be able to update more often...idk.

Until I write again,
