Kalani POV
"I hate you".
Comes out more bitter than hoped but who am I to care?
He deserves it.
I can feel him smirk against me which is the last straw.
I angrily try to get out of his grip, it works a little before he tightens it again.
"UGH! Let me go!"
I try to push him off faster.
"Hey, hey. Why are you mad", did I hear endearment in his voice?
No.
No...?
I push his chest so I can make eye contact with him and see him looking back up at me with the cutest smile on his face.
My face immediately smiles back, as a sign of reflex...obviously.
I suddenly realize how close we were and immediately jump off his lap and pat myself down.
My face probably had *caught off guard* written all over it.
I looked back at him to see confusion mixed with disappointment before it flashed away, replacing it with a soft neutral face as he went back to playing his game, slightly irritated.
I shook off the thought of him being disappointed with the fact that we weren't close and decided to also pretend like nothing happened as I went to sit next to him.
"So how was your weekend?",
"Hmm...ok, what about you",
Did I mention the stupid butt was still playing his game, I hate him.
"It was good. OH! Mary and Josh started dating"
"oh really? Did not see that coming"
I giggle, "I know, but they're cute together".
