Chapter 8: Zouken Matou

Shirou and Sakura arrived at the Matou Estate and, needless to say, it was creepy as hell at night. Sakura opened the gates and we went inside, so far it looks fairly normal.

That is until she let us into a hidden room, and what we saw inside made us want to vomit.

Hallowed walls are everywhere, the sounds of chirping can be heard coming from within. There was a large pit at the center of the chamber; tiny things can be seen thriving inside, but Shirou can't discern what they are due to the darkness.

Me and Rider materialized beside the two of them. While Rider managed to keep her composure, I was physically gagging at the mass of insects in the pit.

"This is where Grandfather creates his familiars... it's also where I trained." Sakura states, her voice becoming more robotic.

Shirou turns to her, bewildered as he put the pieces together, "wait, you don't mean..."

"Grandfather would throw me into the pit, letting his worms penetrate me from every corner of my body..." Sakura said robotically, "he would keep me there, for hours on end, to make me into an ideal Matou magus... I eventually grew numb to the pain."

Shirou couldn't believe it. How could... how could anyone do this to their own family!? It isn't right!

It... it isn't human!

[This is just a sliver of the Moonlit World. Magi train their successors in order for their legacy and magecraft to persevere in the future. Proof of that is a Magic Crest that's carved into their first born, while the second born are either killed or put up for adoption.]

I pick up one of the Crest Worms slithering around and stare at it, "the Tohksaka family had two children. It was decided that the eldest would receive their Magic Crest while the youngest would be put up for adoption. The Matou bloodline was dying, so per their alliance, the Tohsakas gave them their youngest as per their alliance. Zouken decided to make the child the 'heir' despite them being the youngest and immediately started training."

Shirou turns to me as I crush the worm in my hand, "but that was all a lie", its blood flowed down the floor, "the truth was that Zouken needed vessels to sustain himself and one that had high-quality magic circuits would sustain him longer than an ordinary human. He seized the opportunity when the Tohsakas offered to give him their youngest, as Tohsaka magi are known to have high-quality magic circuits. The first thing he did was change the child's hair and eye color, making their original lineage nonexistent, and the second was plant a worm that housed his soul so that when the time came he could take her over and continue living like the parasite he was."

My face twists as anger takes over, "it is a mockery of human life and every moral under the sun! How DARE he think that he can manipulate souls to this extend for the sake of his vanity!? HOW DARE HE TREAT THEM AS TOOLS, AS GODDAMN CLOTHES HE CAN WEAR!? WHEN I GET MY HANDS ON THAT PIECE OF DOG SHIT, I. WILL. RIP. HIM. APART! NOT EVEN HIS DISGUSTING SOUL WILL REMAIN!" Sparks of power began to leak out with every word, causing everyone to instinctually take a step back.

Shirou Is left stunned by his yelling. Never once had he seen his Servant so angry before, nor have so much vice for one person even if they deserved it.

Rider was no different though she had to admit that she... liked this side of him.

'What is wrong with me?' Rider thought.

He closed his eyes, and let out a heavy sigh calming down. Suddenly the atmosphere turned stale, and seemed like the temperature dropped for some reason, but what drew their attention were Frank's eyes, specifically his left eye.
