Chapter 22: The Warrior, the Goddess, and the Assassin Part 2
Shirou POV
I felt something pushing me forward but before I knew it my sight was obscured by the debris and dust of the falling building. The shockwave sent me flying far and from what I noticed I was going to crash onto an abandoned car.
"T-Trace On." I cried.
The moment I said that, my Magic Circuits flared. Grid-like circuitry appears on my torso and back and I crash into one of the cars hard. I slowly stand up from the dent I made, lightly groaning from the soreness in my back. If I hadn't used Reinforcement, the damage would have been more fatal.
I look up to see the extensive damage caused by the fallen building. As I took a few steps, I notice a familiar figure buried under some of the debri.
"Tohsaka!" I yelled.
I dashed towards Tohsaka and began removing some of the debri. When I finished I saw that she was mostly safe except for some torn bits of clothing and bleeding cuts around her arms and forehead.
Tohsaka's body begins to sigit as she slowly opens her eyes. "E...Emiya-kun..." She said grobaly.
"Tohsaka..." I sigh in relief, she's alive. "Are you alright?"
"Yes. I... I think so..." Tohsaka slowly begins to rise but stumbles a little and loses balance. I quickly catch and we both stare at each other for what feels like hours, until we immediately separate.
"S-so... how about we look for the others okay?"Rin said with a shade of pink on her face.
"Y-yeah..." I agreed, also flustered.
We got to work on looking for everyone. We managed to find Rider protecting Sakura from the debris and in the corner-end of the building was Caster having erected a barrier to protect herself and Souichirou.
"Shirou can you hear me!?" A familiar voice called out from the other side.
I rushed to the ruined building that was separating us. "...Frank?" I yelled back.
"Is there anyone else with you?" Frank asked.
"We're fine on this end but what about you? Are you alright?" I asked
No immediate response came from the other side, I grew a bit anxious. Did something happen!?
"We're fine here but, I don't think we can go the way we came." Frank replies, much to my relief.
"So what now?" I asked. Though I am glad the others are fine, I don't think we'll be able to make much progress like this.
"... how long will it take to reach the city plaza?" Frank asked.
I arch an eyebrow at the question wondering why he would bring up something like that. I look around and notice the familiar area we're in, "... about thirty minutes or so."
"Tell everyone on your end to meet us at the plaza!" I yelled.
"What's wrong-" I stop mid-sentence as I begin to hear familiar giggles/shrills coming from beyond.
"There's no time. Go now!" Frank yelled as I heard the noise of frantic footsteps growing fainter and fainter. I look up to see some of the Laḫmus descending towards us, shocking at the fact that these things can fly.
"Trace On." I cried and projected Kanshou and Bakuya. I rush at one of the Laḫmus and manage to cut one of them down. I noticed that my projections have somehow got stronger since before I couldn't scratch them when I traced this Noble Phantasm.
