Chapter 18: The Date
Shirou was at a loss for words, the scenery before him was like nothing he has ever seen before.
Fields of flowing white roses, rain clouds having over the sky, and weapons stabbed into the ground. In the distances, he could see colossal rusted gears wrapped in vines.
It was beautiful, he thought, like something straight out of a painting.
Shirou walks through the field, he notices something shining in the distance. As he approached, the object became clear to him. It was a western sword impaled into the stone. It has a blue hilt with golden highlights and a small red gem embedded into the blade. The blade itself was silver and had an inscription that he couldn't understand engraved on it.
(I do not own this image)
A Sword in the Stone.
He felt a pull coming from the blade and reached out for it.
"Don't."
A voice can be heard from the distance, he couldn't place it but it sounds familiar.
"There's a time and place for everything, but now's not the time."
"Who are you?" Shirou asked.
"You are about to face your greatest battle yet."
"What do you mean?"
"Wake up."
Shirou's eyes grew heavy as he lost his strength. The last thing he saw was someone standing in front of him with his back turned and the crimson duster coat flowing with the wind.
"I am the Bone of my Sword."
Shirou opened his eyes and was greeted by a very familiar ceiling. He tries to remember what happened last night, but it's all a blur.
'That place...' He thought. It was strange, despite never seeing it before he had the strangest feeling that he's known it all his life.
"Look who's finally up. You gave us quite a scare."
Shirou turned his head and saw his Servant sitting beside him.
"Frank..." Shirou muttered only for his eyes to widen in realization and suddenly stood up. "Frank!"
I waved my hand a bit. "Yeah, yeah it's me. You don't have to shout my name, you know."
"But you... how...?" Shirou stuttered.
"Well, I'm not dead if that's what you're going to ask." I said.
"And the others?" Shirou asked.
