Year: 844 - 8 months before Paradis mission

Two candles shined in the dimly lit room. Smells of bread and soup were floating around the room while Reiner quietly ate at the table at a fast rate. Across from him sat (Y/N) while Bertholdt was to his side and Marcel on his bed.

The warriors had endured a hard day at training, and it reflected on their grimy expressions and fatigued bodies.

"Reiner, are you okay? You seem sick..." Bertholdt questioned while putting a hand on his shoulder.

"I-I'm fine, I don't know what you're talking about Berthol-" Reiner couldn't finish his sentence as his head jerked forward and his dinner came straight out of his mouth.

Vomit continued pouring from his mouth onto the floor.

Immediately after the fluid had left Reiner's mouth, (Y/N) had jumped back from the blonde boy. On the other hand, the tall black haired boy went to his side and helped Reiner with his issues.

"God dammit, Reiner!" Marcel shouted while looking down from his bunkbed with a disgusted look on his face. "This whole place stinks now." he finished while plopping his head back onto the pillow and covering himself with a blanket.

"You couldn't hold it in could you?!" (Y/N) said annoyingly while making his way to his shared bunk.

(Y/N) reached into his backpack a pulled out a small box which could fit into his hand. Today was a special day, except no one knew it. He slyly put the case into his pocket before making his way to the door.

"Hey (Y/N)! Where are you going?" Marcel shouted from his bed.

"Away from the awful smell of Reiner's sick." (Y/N) said back before opening the door and stepping out.

He began walking past the few people that were in the halls. A short journey of about seventy metres brought (Y/N) to his destination. A tall brown door that was identical to the one of his barrack. The boy knocked at the wood a couple of times before stepping back and waiting.

He waited for the blonde haired girl he wanted to see, however, it was someone else who appeared in front of him.

The door steadily opened to reveal a short girl with messy black hair tied in a bun. She had loose strands of hair which fell over her eyes and a drowsy expression on her face. Her closing dark brown eyes tilted upwards to look at the tall boy.

"Good morning, (Y/N)." Pieck said mellowly while a smile appeared on her face.

"Hey Pieck. It's the afternoon by the way." he said hesitantly.

"Oh sorry. Just...really......tired after the t-training." her yawns breaking apart her sentence.

"It's okay....I can understand that." (Y/N) said.

It was silent between the two before (Y/N) decided to speak on the reason why he was here.

"Is Annie inside?" (Y/N) asked kind of quietly.

"Annie? She's not here at the moment. I think she headed outside to the north side of camp." Pieck muttered while looking away.

"Thanks, Pieck. I appreciate it. Anyway, I'm going to head over there to find her." (Y/N) said while walking away.

"No problem...." She whispered under her breathe while closing the door and returning to her usual slumber.

(Y/N) walked through the numerous hallways for a few minutes until he finally made it to the exit of the large building. He stepped out and followed the path into the fielded area.
