Chapter 2

"Michikatsu?!" Yoriichi exclaimed in shock.

There before him was a male with long black hair tied up in a ponytail. He wore a purple and black hexagonal designed kimono and black hakama pants. He has the same marks as Yoriichi, on the forehead and on the right side of his cheek.

"Yoriichi, get away from the demon." Michikatsu stated as he prepared his blade.

Yoriichi heard you growling beside him as he held you in place. "No, brother! She's my daughter!" Yoriichi exclaimed as Michikatsu stiffened.

Michikatsu quickly shook his head as he looked at Yoriichi. "Daughter or not, she must be killed Yoriichi. If we don't, she will kill innocent lives!" Michikatsu replied as he dashed towards you, ready to attack.

Yoriichi quickly moved you behind him as he blocked Michikatsu's blade with his hatchet. Michikatsu's eyes widened in surprise when he saw Yoriichi parry his attack.

"I won't let you hurt (Y/N). She hasn't and won't kill anyone, brother. I felt a different presence in my home. It may be the perpetrator!" Yoriichi reasoned.

You dashed towards Michikatsu and kicked him a few feet away. Michikatsu let out a grunt from the powerful kick as he quickly regained his composure.

"(Y/N)!" Yoriichi said in worry as he watched you run up to him.

"Yoriichi!" Michikatsu shouted as he watched you running up to Yoriichi. Afraid that something will happen. Michikatsu quickly dashed towards his brother, hoping to save him in time and praying that his 'niece' didn't harm him.

Michikatsu stopped in his tracks once he saw the scene before him.

There you stood, arms outstretched as you shielded Yoriichi from Michikatsu. You bared your fangs towards Michikatsu as you let out a small growl.

"(Y/N)..." Yoriichi mumbled out as he watched you protect him.

You quickly dashed towards Michikatsu, ready to attack. The two brothers looked at you in shock.

"(Y/N), no! That's Michikatsu! Your uncle!" Yoriichi exclaimed as you aimed your claws at Michikatsu.

Michikatsu quickly snapped out of his trance. He quickly dodged your attack. You ran around the snowy area, using the trees as you leaped towards Michikatsu.

"Brother!" Yoriichi yelled as he saw Michikatsu about to take a stance.

'She used up all he energy just to heal her wounds. She's severely starved yet... she protected Yoriichi. To the point that she even intimidated me.' Michikatsu thought as he looked at your eyes.

'(Y/N)... I wonder.. if you're different than them.' Michikatsu Michikatsu thought as he sheathed his blade and moved to the side, making your eyes widened.

"I'm sorry." Michikatsu said as you noticed his hand coming towards you. You let out a small yelp as Michikatsu hand chopped your neck, making you black out.

Yoriichi sat beside your unconscious form. He wrapped a large haori on your body to keep you warm from the cold weather.

A look of sadness was plastered on Yoriichi's face as he helped Michikatsu bury Uta's corpse. You stood at the sides, wondering what they were doing but continued to watch instead.

You saw the two males pressed their hands together and closed their eyes, making you tilt your head in confusion.

Michikatsu was the first to open his eyes as he noticed you staring at him and Yoriichi.

You watched as Michikatsu walked towards you, pulling something out from his pocket. Yoriichi followed after, wanting to see what his brother will do.

"Here. I don't want you biting people or your lips with those fangs of yours." Michikatsu said as he showed you what appears to be a bamboo muzzle with a red ribbon shown at both ends.

You tilted your head to the side as you looked at the muzzle. Michikatsu took a step closer towards you and placed the muzzle on your mouth.

"Don't bite anyone, got it?" Michikatsu said as you gave him a thumbs up.

Yoriichi had a small smile on his face as he watched his brother and daughter interact.

"She'll be okay for now since it's cloudy but don't let her get exposed in the sunlight. One of a demon's weakness is the sun, they burn to ashes." Michikatsu reminded as he looked at Yoriichi.

"I know, brother." Yoriichi replied as he turned to see you inspecting the muzzle on your mouth with stars forming around you.

"Become a Demon Slayer again, Yoriichi. Maybe there, we could find a way to turn (Y/N) back to a human." Michikatsu stated.

You noticed Yoriichi had a blank look on his face and decided to approach him. Yoriichi noticed you and his eyes widened when you hugged him.

"Hmph!" you hummed out as you happily looked at Yoriichi, trying to cheer him up.

A smile appeared on Yoriichi's face as he patted your head. Yoriichi then turned to look at Michikatsu, his face having a serious expression.

"If I can find a cure for (Y/N), then I'll gladly become a Demon Slayer. But you know that I've been banned from it." Yoriichi said.

"That was in the past Yoriichi. It's different now. You could prove yourself to them that you can still slay demons." Michikatsu reasoned.

You looked at the two males in front of you. Having no clue what they are talking about, you decided to stand besides Yoriichi, holding onto his red haori.

"Go see an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki. He lives at the foot of Mt. Sagiri. He was the one who helped me with my training to become a Demon Slayer. I'm sure he could help you as well." Michikatsu informed as he looked at you.

"I'll be off to report back to headquarters. Both of you, be safe." Michikatsu said as he patted your head then disappeared in a flash.

You felt someone holding your hand as you turned to see Yoriichi.

"Let's go, (Y/N)." Yoriichi stated with a small smile.

"Mmph!" you happily replied with a small nod as you and Yoriichi began to head down the mountain.
