"To join the Demon Slayer Corps, you must survive the Final Selection process held on Mt. Fujikasane. Whether or not you're eligible for Final Selection is up to me." Urokodaki stated to which Yoriichi nodded in reply.

Yoriichi continued to descend the mountain. Enhancing his agility and footwork to move out and about.

Yoriichi accidentally activated one of the traps, making him stop in his tracks. He looked around the area, searching for any incoming attack.

Yoriichi sensed something behind him as he quickly moved to the side. A barrage of knives pierced through the trunk of a tree, to where Yoriichi was supposed to be.

Yoriichi looked at the knives with a sweat drop. 'Urokodaki-san is trying to kill me...' Yoriichi thought.

Yoriichi was tidying up the futon he used as he then went towards your room.

Yoriichi's worries began to rise when he saw you, still sleeping peacefully.

"I'm going to go train now, (Y/N). Urokodaki-san gave me a blade. I'll be practicing my techniques and forms. I hope you wake up soon, my little sun." Yoriichi exclaimed as he patted your head.

Yoriichi looked at you one last time before walking out of the room to go out and train.

----------------------------

Yoriichi stood under the waterfalls, hands clasped together and eyes closed.

'Six months... it's been six months since (Y/N) was last awake.' Yoriichi thought in worry as he recalled what happened yesterday.

'The doctor stated that nothing is wrong with her... yet it's not normal for her to stay asleep like this.' Yoriichi thought.

Yoriichi brushed away a few strands of your hair away from your face. "Wake up soon, (Y/N)." Yoriichi whispered out as he placed his hand on your forehead.

'I worry that one morning... I'll wake up to find her dead. Not a day goes by that I don't worry.' Yoriichi thought as he looked at the blade in his other hand.

'God, if you can hear me... don't take my daughter away..' Yoriichi thought as the grip on his blade tightened.

"I'll find a cure... even if I have to fight demons. I'll save my daughter." Yoriichi told himself as a look of determination crossed his face.

-------------------------

Urokodaki and Yoriichi walked along the mountain until they stopped in front of a large boulder.

"If you can slice this boulder, I will allow you to enter the Final Selection." Urokodaki said as he turned to look at Yoriichi.

Yoriichi looked at the giant boulder in front of him. 'I have sliced multiple demons before, can I slice this boulder?' Yoriichi thought.

Yoriichi turned to Urokodaki only to see him walking away. Yoriichi went closer to the boulder and took out his blade.

'I have to slice the boulder. Just one swing.' Yoriichi thought as he raised his sword and swung it down on the rock.

Sparks flew from the blade as Yoriichi felt the force of his attack. Yoriichi looked at the blade with relief when he didn't saw it broke.

'I have to practice my forms again if I want to slice this boulder.' Yoriichi thought as he placed his hand on the rock.

-----------------------------

Yoriichi let out a deep breath as he looked at the large boulder in front of him. He then took a stance and unsheathed his blade.

Yoriichi dashed towards and boulder and jumped. "Sun Breathing. First form: Dance." Yoriichi exclaimed as he swung down his sword, vertically.

Flames began to erupt in the blade as a bright light engulfed the area.

Yoriichi landed safely on the ground as he looked at the boulder in front of him with a look of happiness. There, the large boulder lay with a clean cut in the middle.

Yoriichi looked at his blade and sheathed it in its scabbard. 'I did it... I can't wait to tell (Y/N) about this.' Yoriichi thought with a small smile.

Yoriichi suddenly heard footsteps coming as he slowly turned to see Urokodaki. Yoriichi watched as Urokodaki inspected the boulder them turned to look at him.

"At first... I was hesitant to send people to the Final Selection. I didn't want to see people die anymore." Urokodaki said.

"Well done, Yoriichi. You are truly a remarkable swordsman. I will allow you to enter the Final Selection. Make sure you come back alive. Your daughter will be waiting for you here." Urokodaki added as he patted Yoriichi's shoulder.

-----------------------------

"This is a lot of food, Urokodaki-san. What's the occasion?" Yoriichi asked as he watched Urokodaki preparing various kinds of meal.

"You are heading to Mt. Fujikasane tomorrow for the Final Selection. You should eat up and take some rest. You trained for at least two years. You should celebrate your achievements." Urokodaki explained as he handed Yoriichi a serving of his meal.

"Thank you." Yoriichi said as he began to eat the meal Urokodaki served.

Urokodaki stood up and went towards a shelf. "Michikatsu also sent you a letter earlier." Urokodaki informed as he handed the letter to Yoriichi.

"Thank you, Urokodaki-san." Yoriichi said as he took the letter from Urokodaki's grasp. Yoriichi heard the door to the room shut, meaning that Urokodaki has left to retire for the night.

Yoriichi slowly opened the letter and read what was written.

Yoriichi,

I have heard from Urokodaki that you have successfully sliced the boulder. I expect no less from you, brother.

I did a bit of investigation back at your home. I felt another presence left behind that didn't belong to Uta or (Y/N).

I have a theory that Muzan Kibutsuji was the one who did this and turned (Y/N) into a demon. The Demon Lord himself is the only one that can turn humans into demons.

I am also researching for a cure to turn (Y/N) back into a human. You're not alone in this situation, Yoriichi.

I hope this letter finds you. I wish you luck on the Final Selection but I know you could handle it with ease.

Yours truly,
Michikatsu

---------------------------

Yoriichi placed the sheathed blade beside his waist as he wore his haori.

Yoriichi turned to look back at your sleeping form, his gaze softening. "(Y/N)..." Yoriichi trailed off as he held your small hand in his.

"I'll be heading off to the Final Selection. I'm coming back here no matter what, all right? I hope you wake up soon, my little sunshine." Yoriichi said as he slowly let you go and stood up.

"Don't worry about your daughter. I'll take good care of her." Urokodaki stated as he followed Yoriichi out of the house.

"All right. Thank you very much." Yoriichi said as he bowed towards Urokodaki.

"I'll be off then, Urokodaki-san." Yoriichi exclaimed as he began to walk away, waving goodbye to Urokodaki.
