Chapter 16

You felt a hand place itself on top of your head to give you a head pat. You looked up to see the owner of the hand was from your father's, making you let out a hum of happiness.

Both you and your father saw Tamayo pulling out a syringe and began to extract blood from the temari demon. "I hope this blood will be instrumental in developing the cure." Tamayo exclaimed as she placed the syringe in a small case.

You watched as Tamayo stood up to look at you and your father. "Is it alright if I did a small check up on (Y/N)? During the fight with the demon earlier, she was heavily injured so I medicated her with a healing serum. I'm very sorry." Tamayo explained, a guilty look was etched on her face.

You turned to look at your father and saw him looking down at you. Your father gave a short nod and motioned for you to go with Tamayo. "You can go with Tamayo-san, (Y/N). I'll join you in a few minutes. Hurry now, the sun is almost up." your father stated as you nodded in reply and followed Tamayo inside the house.

"Nothing seems to be wrong.. I'm glad you're alright, (Y/N)." Tamayo exclaimed with a smile of relief as she finished doing a small check up on you. You hummed happily and gave Tamayo a thumbs up as you stood up and fixed the wrinkles of your clothes.

Your hand immediately went up to your hair to find the hairpin your father gave you. You let out a sigh of relief when you felt the smooth designs of the ornament still pinned to your hair.

"Tamayo-san? (Y/N)?" you heard your father call out. "We're down here, Yoriichi-san!" Tamayo answered. "You can stay there. You don't need to come at all. But if you want to, then be my guest." Yushiro said in annoyance as he crossed his arms. "Yushiro!" Tamayo scolded. "I'm only joking, Tamayo-sama!" Yushiro quickly replied as he waved his arms frantically.

Your eyes lit up when you saw your father coming down the stairs. You shrinked yourself to a small size and ran towards him, hugging his legs. Tamayo giggled at the adorable reunion in front of her.

You let out a hum as you let go of your father and ran towards Tamayo, wrapping your arms around her figure and giving her a hug. You felt Tamayo stiffen for a second but quickly returned your hug. You felt a dark aura coming from beside you.

You slowly turned your head to see the dark aura was coming from Yushiro. Veins forming around his face as his eye twitched in annoyance. "Why, you! Step away from Lady Tamayo! That's so rude!" Yushiro whisper-yelled. You gave Yushiro a peace sign as you continued to hug Tamayo, making him even more annoyed and slightly jealous.

"Stop it, Yushiro. I don't mind at all." Tamayo said. "Yes, ma'am!" Yushiro quickly replied, sparkles were floating around him as he looked at Tamayo with admiration. You then reached your hand out towards Yushiro and began to pat his head. "Cut.. it.. out." Yushiro exclaimed as he tried to push your hand away.

Yushiro suddenly flinched when he felt someone's eyes boring at the back of his head. He slowly looked behind him to see Yoriichi staring down at him, making the demon shiver in slight fear. Yushiro gulped and let you continue patting his head, making you hum in delight.

"(Y/N) has been acting in this way after I gave her a healing serum. Is she alright?" Tamayo asked in concern, making Yoriichi turn to look at her. "My daughter is alright. There's nothing to worry about, Tamayo-san. She probably thinks you're someone important to her. Like a family." Yoriichi explained.

"Family? But I thought the spell (Y/N) is under causes her to see humans as her family to protect. Yushiro and I are demons." Tamayo exclaimed. Yushiro looked at your way and his eyes widened in surprise when he saw you giving him a close eyed smile while patting his head.
