The School of Lost Causes

Chapter 5

I woke up to an alarm clock ringing violently. It was odd considering I didn't set an alarm before falling asleep. Slowly opening my eyes it took me a second to get used to the light in the room. After my eyes adjusted I could see Tessa sitting upright in her bed rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "Morning Rox. How did you sleep?" A small smile made its way onto my lips and I sat up. "I slept better than in that bus that's for sure" Her laugh filled the room as she got up und walked over to her closet piking her outfit of the day. I quickly got up as well and started stretching. My neck and wrists cracking and reliving the slightest bit of pressure.

As wandered over to the closet and started looking at my clothes my mind began to wander. What were my parents doing? Did they miss me at all? And what about the boys? How did they survive the first night here? They were probably fine. I told myself. They have each other. Tessa's voice ripped me out of my thoughts. "If its alright with you ill get dressed in the bathroom really quick and then you can shower or whatever. I showered last night so I don't have too today." It took me a second to realize what she was talking about, so I just nodded, and she disappeared into the bathroom.

So I turned back to my closet to pick my outfit. I decided on a pair of ripped black jeans and a pair of fishnets under them as well as a dark red tank top with I thought about waring my favourite leather jacket but decided on an oversized black zip-up hoody jacket. I also grabbed a couple of chain necklaces with different length and a bunch of rings. Just as I was about to change the entire outfit again Tessa walked out of the bathroom. She was wearing a black plaid skater skirt that went town to just above the knee with black tights underneath and a dark blue t-shirt with a black rose in the middle. Her makeup was light except for the dramatic eyeliner. She looked absolutely perfect just like the day before and I was starting to think that it was impossible for her to look ugly as her smile lit up the room.

I quickly walked past her into the bathroom and hopped into the shower. The hot water against my skin felt incredible and my tense muscles relaxed. I washed my hair and body and just as I decided that I wanted to stay in this shower forever I heard a knock on the door. "Hey Rox, its already 6:30 we have to get to breakfast." Begrudgingly I turned of the how water and dried myself of before blow-drying my hair and getting dressed. I did my makeup like always and checked if everything looked good one more time before coming out of the bathroom. Tessa was waiting on her bed reading a book when I caught her attention and she smiled again. We Quickly made our way to breakfast while getting lost a couple times on the way there. As we stood in line I could feel the gaze of the other students on us. It made sense since neither of us looked like the type of person that belonged in a school like this, so I tried to ignore it. These rich kids wouldn't get that this was pretty normal clothing in the parts of town further away from the centre. As I grabbed my tray and turned around I collided with another student. This made the try fall onto the ground and my food landed everywhere including the chest and shirt of the guy I just ran into. This guy was at least a couple inches taler than me and I had to look up to meet his beautiful blue eyes. "I-I'm So sorry I didn't mean to..." Amusement lit up is eyes as I continued to stammer my apologies. He smiled and carefully put his hand on my shoulder.

"Don't worry about it. Happens to the best of us" He crouched down and picked up my tray before handing it back to me. "I'm Blake by the way" I gave him a small smile back. "I'm Roxy nice to meet you" My gaze flickered back down to his shirt that was drenched in milk and cereal. Without thinking twice about it I shrugged of my jacked and handed it to him "Here so you don't have to run around with a dirty shirt all day." He looked at my stretched-out arm and slowly took the jacked before putting it on and zipping it up. I wasn't surprised that it fit him as it was a "Male" hoody jacked to begin with. "thanks ill give it back to you tomorrow. I nodded and before I could say anything else Tessa grabbed my arm and pulled me away to an empty table at the back of the cafeteria. It was only when I sat down that I was now left with no food and nothing to "cover up" the tight tank top that I was wearing and instinctively crossed my arms over my stomach. "What was that about Rox? Do you want to get into trouble on you first day here? You know the rule about opposite gender contact." She handed me one half of the sandwich she got, and I nodded thankfully before I took it. "I spilled my food all over him it, so I gave him my jacked. It was the least I could do." She started to grin as her eyes raked over my body. "by the by I don't get why you cover yourself up al the time. You look amazing!" Shaking my head it took started eating.
