Coltins POV

It's been about a week since I last spoke or seen Nathan. I've decided to listen to my mother and forgive him the best as I can. I know it's going to be a tuff one for me but at least I have to try.

"So what's stopping you?" I looked over at Yessli whose helping me with some of my clients.

"I don't know."

"Well have you talked to him or anything lately?"

"Not since we last talked, that was about a week ago."

"Well today is your lucky day."

"What do you mean?" I looked over at her as she turned her computer around towards me.

"He's having a party for his new promo business tonight at 8:30."

I looked at the screen and signed. "It's says invitations only. You have to be invited to this. You know how celebrities are and how they have to keep things in control. And this is not a party it's more like a ballroom."

"Ok same difference. So you gonna go?"

"How? I don't have an invitation."

"I'm pretty sure they'll let you slide. After all you do know him personally."

"Really two black women trying to slide in a primary white party. Sure?!" I laughed.

"Whatever. Just be ready by 8:15."

"Sure. See you later." I grabbed my stuff and walked out the building, heading home.

It's now around seven and I'm just waking up from a much needed nap. I go to the fridge to look for food when I heard a knock.

I opened the door and it revealed Yessli dressed in a nice blue gown. Her hair was done into a bob and makeup was on point.

"Are you serious right now? Why aren't you dressed? See and this is why I also come a little earlier forwhatever time I said."

"What you mean? I thought you were joking. I didn't know you were serious about actually attending."

"Why wouldn't i be? I knew this was going to be the only way you would have reached out to him. Since I knew you wasn't going to text or email this man on your own. Now you have no choice, so go get ready." She said as she tuned the shower on pulling me in the bathroom while she went to my closet.

I took a nice shower and proceeded to wear the nice red gown she pulled out. I lotion my body before I started on my makeup.

"Here wear these shoes." She handed me golden heels that were super cute.

She curled my hair, that was now blonde in some nice curls. The edges were done and I started to wear lip stick but lipgloss is always my number one choice.

"Damn i did that. You look fine asf. Let me take a picture real quick then we can go."

She took her picture that turned into more of a photo shoot and we left heading to the party. But as we pull up to this huge mansion and shit, I realized we still don't have no invitations.

"And how are we suppose to get in again?"

"Yeah so i didn't really think about that. So convincing is the way to go." She shrugged her shoulders and looked at me.

"And if your magical plan doesn't work what we doing later because I'm not finna waste a nice fit for my bedroom."

"I'll take you to dinner."

I shook my head at her and got out the car. We walked up to the line waiting to go inside. And immediately I started to regret doing this.

"I feeling really hungry, can we just get food instead?"

"Wait no. If my plan doesn't work then I'll think about it."She said as we walked forward meeting the guy with a tablet in hand. I'm assuming it's the invitation list.

"Good evening ladies. Name?"

"Um, for Heather." Yessli said and I looked over at her and shrugged her shoulders.

"Um I don't see it."

"Really? Wow that's crazy. See I just remembered I wasn't sure if i was still coming or no because you know my mom was sick earlier today. So I might've told Nathaniel to put me on when I'm here."

"Sorry to hear, but i can't let you in unless your name is on the list."

"Why not? I mean I know him personally"

"So does everyone. Still can't let you slide through. You guys might have the wrong address because if it's not listed here then you ain't coming in. Got it?"

Welp we tried. Just when I was about tell Yessli let's go. I heard my name being called.

"Coltin?"

I turned around with a surprised expression. "Wow Nathan. What I surprise?"

"Yeah Nathaniel we were just passing by and saw you hand a party so we thought we'd stop by."yessli added.

"Huh? So you guys are not staying." He smirked.

"These ladies are not on the list sir." The guys said before we could speak.

"It's fine they're with me." He said as we walked in the nice mansion.

It was really beautiful. The designs that went around the house was really neat.

"Damn this place is nice. I bet y'all got a jacuzzi?" Yessli shouted a loud.

I saw Nathan chuckle as he nodded at her. She is too much. Then she walked away to get something to drink. Leaving only me and Nathan by ourselves.

"She is something." Nathan jokes making me laugh.

"Yeah. She is."

"So what brings you by? I know that the you didn't come see an old friend speaking from our past. Wassup?" He asked as we stood outside on the huge balcony.

His hands were in his pocket. His hair was pushed back all nice and shit. His eyes were dark blue and his lips were nice and pink.

"So I wanted to talk about my decision for us to be friends again. I say this because I don't want to be stressed about something that can be fixed like our friendship. I know it's gonna take me some time to be nice to you, but i just wanted you to know that there's no beef on this end. So what do you say, friends again?" I said as I took my hand out for him to shake it.

Hoping he actually remembers our old handshake. He walked forward to me and smiled. He looked down at my hand and proceeded to do our old handshake. A smile appeared on my face as we just stared at each other.

"Let me take you out to dinner."

"Hahah! And I say Good night Nathan." I laughed as I started to walk away.

"You not staying?"

"No. I have work in the morning."

"So you drove all the way out here to tell me we can be friends?"

"Yes. Yes I did. And now I'm bout to go home to my wonderful bed."

"Wait don't go. At least let me get you some food. I know your hungry."

"You have food here. And did you forget your throwing a house party?" I laughed as I turned towards him.

"It's not really a house party when your best friend isn't involved. Plus it's not my party, it's for Dayana and the food she has out is vegetarian food. Which is horribly nasty." He laughed showing off is white teeth.

I smiled and looked up at him. And then thought about everything.

"Rain check?"

He nodded as I walked away into the mansion trying to find out where Yessli is. Once I found her we left, got dinner at this restaurant because I was hungry.

Now that I finally have some closure and felt a relief I went to bed, hoping I did not make a mistake of becoming friends again.

I'm doing the right thing, right?
