"Ur gonna love her! She's funny as fuck." Lana's words repeat in my head. I walk into Pepper Jacks and look at the menu on the wall.
"Ashton?" I hear a soft girlish voice. Turning to my left, I see a beautiful girl with these big red and black glasses hiding her face.
"You must be Marnie?" I say, smiling at the cutie. She blushes and nods, trying to avoid eye contact. We order our food and sit at a booth. She was so small, she had to be at least a foot shorter than me. Her curly blonde hair was popping out of her bun and her big brown eyes were hidden behind her glasses.
"I'm glad you wanted to come out. Lana told me about you and I just had to meet you." I tell her, making her blush even more.
"I uh, I'm glad you asked me out." She replies softly. She must be really shy.
"So you're on the cheer team? That must be fun." I try to strike up a conversation.
"Yeah. I've been on it for two years now, since freshman year. We're going to regionals next month." Marnie says, looking a little bit more comfortable. "Most people do t believe me when I say I do cheer."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm so short. And I play baseball." She tells me. I raise my eyebrows at the baseball part.
"Well, it's not everyday you meet a female baseball player. I'm honored." I say, taking her hand and kissing the top of it. She chuckles and takes it back, covering her mouth with her hand. "And you aren't that short. What are you, 5'2", 5'3"?"
"I'm 4'10." She dead pans. I looked at her shocked for a second and then smile. "I'm a legal midget."
"No you aren't. Short girls are hot." I reassure, winking at her. She laughs and shakes her head at me. "Tell me about yourself. What's your biggest fear?"
"Um, my biggest fear?" She thinks for a second and then her eyes get wide. "Snakes. Like the big ones. Anaconda's."
"But they're so harmless to people." I say. She scuffs.
"No they aren't. They're creepy and slithery and yucky." She insists. I laugh and she skates at me. "What's your biggest fear?"
"I'll tell you but no one else can know." I say, pointing at her. "Ducks."
"Ducks?!" She cried out in a fit of laughter.
"Yes, ducks. They are weird and mean. They can't digest bread. What kind of thing can't digest bread?!" I question.
"What do you mean?" She asks, looking at me curiously.
"If a duck eats bread, it can't digest it so their stomach blows up and ruptures, killing them." I tell her.
"Oh my God! So I'm a duck murderer? I go to the park every Saturday with my niece to feed them bread." She looks at me worried. Shaking her head, she pouts. "What have I done?"
"It's okay, the more you kill the less I'll have to fear." I try to make her feel better. She sticks her tongue out at me, making me laugh. She is so cute.

"So I hear someone has a potential girlfriend." Lana sings, sitting next to Luc at the lunch table.
