~Cameron~Fixing my white, tucked in t-shirt as I approached the small cafe. My hands fell over my orange slip shirt. Wiping off the invisible dust. Looking in any passing reflection as I walked, just to make sure my hair look in place. One last swipe of chapstick.
Perfect.
The small bell ringing as I walk into the cafe. An Asian woman, with long black hair and faire skin stood at the til. She looked up sending me a smile as I approached.
"Hey, I'm here for an interview."
"Oh yeah Iris told me, I'll get her now." I watched as the girl disappeared into the back.
Last time I was here I never even took the time to have a proper look since Dylan kept me distracted by his chatter.
The theme of the cafe was rustic, dark wood surrounded the walls and the booths edges. Wine, faux leather cushion decorated the individual booths. Black industrial lights hung from the ceiling over each tables. The smell of old books and coffee lingered in the air.
My attention was brought back to the door the woman had just went through. This time she was joined with another woman maybe in her late thirties. Her red hair had been shaved all around the sides and what looked like the back aswell. The rest of it had been tied into a small bun on the top of her head. I noticed when she walked around from the counter, She wore a black and red graphic t-shirt along with black, faux leather leggings to match. Paired with black Dock Martins. I was expecting someone a lot older.
"Are you Cameron?" Iris asked.
"Yeah I am. Your Iris?" I held out my hand for her to shake.
She took my hand in hers, shaking it as she laughed. "Yeah that's me. I'm guessing you were expecting someone a lot older."
"No not at all." I laughed, shaking my head. That was a complete lie.
Iris retracted her hand, putting it back by her side. "Well how about we take a seat in one of the booths." Iris held out her hand for me to go first.
Turning around I chose the booth in the corner. Sliding in one side while Iris took the opposite side.
She interlinked her fingers resting her now interlinked hands on the table. "So Cameron tell us about yourself."
I took a deep breathe to try calm my racing heart. My hands resting on my lap out of Iris sight. "Well I'm twenty one, I only came back from Flordia and I'm currently studying art."
"Why did you move here from Flordia?" Iris questioned.
"Well I'm originally from here. But I thought if I moved to Flordia their would be this big self discovery. But their was nothing their for me plus I missed all my friends and family." I let out out small laugh. Remember to breathe Cameron.
Iris nodded her head she looked pleased with my answer. "So the big question." Iris tapped her hands against the table in a mock drumroll. "So why do you want to work here?"
"Well since I only moved back. I'm looking for a place that can keep me on my feet. I don't know for how long but I'll take what I can get. Honestly this would be a perfect job." I had my fingers now crossed in hopes that little speech was as good enough.
"Well lucky for you missy. I will gladly give you the job with flexible hours so it won't interfear with your studies." Iris smiled.
My mouth hung open. "Wait that's it? Don't you want to know more stuff about me or something?"
Iris laughed, shaking her head. "Honestly once I saw you, I would of hired you on the spot. But you know the mandatory interviews and stuff. We need the staff and we haven't been getting many job applications. Plus you were recommended by Dylan."
