Plot:
Cade Carter and his friends have survived the qualifying round of the mysterious overlords' twisted games, decimated by the loss of so many of their comrades during the fight. But they have no time to mourn, for the next round of trials is about to begin.
Review:
Holy mother of gods, Book 2 of contenders is scary intense. Like holy hell, characters got barely any time to grieve for their lost friends. Well, they could, if Cade didn't ya know, snapped at the god.
What the saying? Be careful what you wish for?
Right from start, Cade and his friends have a hard time, though they gain an animal friend, which they named Zeeb. Which animal friend stayed but they left it with a boy at Coliseum.
Ah, yes, they even added Rome in this, well, in the book, it's called New Rome, and my god, it is exactly like that, slaves, slavers, rich people enjoying fights. So on and so on.
And that bastard, Finch, is finally dead, take that coward!
But. It wasn't over, not yet.
Cade got to do his next trial, to fight against a monstrous fish-like thing, as they call it alpha.
The fight was.....amazing, scary and by God's, tough. I thought Cade was about to die, but he lives!
At least,
I hope.
Book sort of ends on a cliffhanger. So, I got to wait until August 2nd, I believe, for the third book.
