The Iron Trial is the first book in The Magisterium Series written by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare. It was published on September 9, 2014.
The protagonist of the series is twelve-year-old Callum (Call) Hunt who was raised by the mage Alastair Hunt, who after the third mage war with 'The Enemy of Death' also known as Constantine Madden, and the death of his wife Sarah at the Cold Massacre, decided to spurn magic and raised up Call to be the same. Call participates in a test to see whether he has sufficient magic to attend the magisterium and train to be a mage using the four elements fire, water, air and earth.
Plot:
A clumsy boy, named Callum Hunt, who doesn't know much about his deceased mother or his strange father, gets invited to take a magical test, called the Iron Trial.
Review:
This book is amazing, its almost like Harry Potter but instead of houses. Its like bracelets size colors to show what year you are in.
Plot in this book is even great, imagine a boy that didn't want to be there because of what his father says, and discover, he likes it.
But, the main character, discover truth about him, truth that made him second guess everything.
Though, other characters are interesting too, especially, Tamara, I like her, she's pretty cool.
Toward the end of book, it surprised hell out of me, who knew that kid was bad guy? RIP fallen character.
I would share more but I don't know if anyone read this book series.
If not. Highly recommended it.
