Racing

Life goes on

It races

But something happens

And it slows

It crawls

You look behind you as it stalls

Lost in that moment

You remember

The past

You don't want to

You gag

You freak

You pound on life

To start racing again

Race against time

Race against the memories

You don't want to remember

It blinds you

It holds you

You hate how fast it goes

But you don't want it to stop

You don't want to think

You don't want to feel

You just sit there

As it goes by

Full speed

Close your eyes

Say goodbye

To the pains of yesterday

Try to look forward

But the wound always stays
