After getting embarrassed by Taylor and her group of friends. Hayden only had one girl best friend who never left him since day one.
Melissa, friends with Hayden for 5 years straight. Hayden knew almost everything about her but was it all just white lies?
Hayden wanted to confess to Melissa. He was nervous but confident.
30 February was the day he had planned to confess which was today.
Ring...ring...ring...
The school bell had rung and everybody rushed down to the cafeteria while Hayden was strolling along the corridors, rethinking if he should confess.
He sat down at his assigned table in the cafeteria, waiting for Melissa to be out of his blind spot.
A while later, Melissa had appeared in front of Hayden, smiling gleefully.
"Hey, Hayden!"
"H-hey" Hayden stuttered with nervousness.
Silence spread for a while between the both of them.
"Hey, Melissa?"
"Yeah? What's up?" Melissa asked.
"This will be a bit weird but we have been friends for a long time and... I want to change that."Hayden said confidently.
"Will you be my girlfriend, Melissa?" He blushes.
Melissa was puzzled but she also started laughing uncontrollably.
"Me?! Become your girlfriend? As if!"
"I've been pretending to be your friend so I can talk shit about you to all of my other friends. Fascinating isn't it?" Melissa smirked.
The silence went through the air when Melissa stopped talking for a few seconds.
"I can't believe you thought I was your friend, I also started talking to you as I felt bad but I was like 7 years old. My 7 years old self is unbelievable, to be honest."
"Being friends with you?! Unbelievable!"Melissa screamed.
Hayden could not believe what Melissa had just said.5 years down the drain like that, all the things Melissa said to him were all false.
His likes were her dislikes and her likes were his dislikes. They were the complete opposite of each other.
Hayden could not believe he just lost another friend. His eyes started to water again but this time, he managed to stop it.
He got up and ran to the washroom and started to tear up. Luckily his other friends were there to comfort him, even if they didn't want to.
