Today was a great day, I've gotten back my English examination papers and I did very well. I can't believe the teacher also praised me in front of the class, I feel pleasant now. Now at least my friends would die down on calling me dumb

Hayden thought while walking through the corridors of the school to the gate.

He was so in his thoughts he did not realize that it was raining heavily. But when he reached before the school gates, he realized it was raining and got drenched from head to toe.

He ran back into the school and put down his bag onto a chair nearby.

"Where is my umbrella? I thought I put it in the pocket of my bag?"

Hayden thought for a while where he had last placed his umbrella in case he might have misplaced it.

"Oh no, I remember now! My brother took it to go out with his friends and never gave me back."Hayden panicked.

There was no shelter from the school to his house. There were 2 options for him, either to wait for the rain to stop or to run back home.

Looking at how heavy the rain is, it would probably stop a few hours later, meaning he would go back at night if he had waited.

"I think the best choice is to run back home, I'll use my bag as a cover for me like an umbrella." Hayden grimaced.

He picked up his bag, placed it on the top of his head and started running towards the direction of his house.

While running, he slipped on a big puddle of water and fell on his back. It hurt so much that he struggled to get up. But after a while, he managed to pick himself up and started running again.

Hayden was very drenched that his uniform was see-through, people started giving him weird stares from afar. His bag was very wet and he was sure all of his books and paper were all wet as it wasn't waterproof.

At last, he reached home. Drenched from head to toe and bag filled with water.

He was relieved he got out of that situation and took a quick bath.

Emptied his bag and put it in his washing machine. Most of his books and worksheets in the front were wet and sticky so he put all of them in front of a fan and blow it dry.

Haydens' mother came back home that evening and stomped straight into Haydens' room looking furious.

"Why did I receive a call from your school saying that you almost KILLED ANOTHER STUDENT!"Haydens' mother shouted.

Mother looked exhausted and drenched as well but that did not stop her from punishing Hayden.

She made Hayden finish all of the assessment books of all the subjects he is learning, forced him to write 1000 lines repeatedly saying why he should not kill, did not feed him for dinner and breakfast for the next day, and even humiliated him in front of the whole school.

Hayden was confused and did not have the guts to say he did not even touch anyone that month or ever.

He had the worst year of his life, serving detention every day at school, being punished by his mother, and getting embarrassed in front of everyone. He thought it would be a good year for him but he thought wrong.
