(Lapis's POV)
"LAZULI! HEY LAZULI!" I opened my eye to see Peridot outside my art gallery. I checked the clock to see it was 6:30. Why is she here this early? "What!?" I yelled from the open window. "We have new students registered and you're late for the faculty meeting!" Peridot shouted from below flailing her arms around. "It's not until noon!" I responded. Peridot gave me the look of "What is the name of clods are you talking about". "It's 12:21!" I looked at my clock and hit it to see time go by. "I'll be out soon!" "For what!? You have clothes! Come on!" Peridot screeched. How in the world did I live with her? I left the gallery and flew off. I saw pale orange hair. I froze and flew higher up so they wouldn't see me. To my fear, it was exactly who I thought it was. Jasper. I have to warn the others!
(No one's POV)
Lapis flew overhead quickly. She kept going as fast as she could to the meeting. She burst through the doors startling them. "About time you clod! We-" Lapis cut Peridot off. "The school is in danger!" "What are you talking about?" Bismuth asked concerned. "What do you mean Lapis?" Steven asked. "I saw Jasper right by the greenhouse!" Lapis shouted. Steven sighed. "False alarm." Lapis looked at him in confusion. "What do you mean? She's going to try and hurt the students! We have to get her out of school grounds." Lapis shouted. "That's why I called this meeting. We have a few new students. Jasper is one of them. She helped us find the other rubies stuck in space. They'd only listen to her. Uh besides Leggy. She listens to anyone so yeah.." Steven explained. Lapis's eyes began to twitch. "No way-No no way am I allowing this!" Pearl sighed. "I had a feeling this would happen. Honestly, I'm not even sure Jaspers ready." Amethyst shrugged. "I dunno, P. She changed a lot and helped us when Steven ran off. I don't see why she isn't." "Let's all sit down and discuss the other students as well as their class assignments," Garnet said gesturing them all to sit down. "The list of our new students go from The New lazuli Peridot nicknamed Freckles. For rubies, it's Leggy, Doc, Army, and Navy. While we don't have the best history with Navy in particular we want to have the teachers having close tabs on her if she tries anything." "Well then let's start with her. Her personality is annoying and she tends to lie often." Peridot started. "It's hard to tell when she's telling the truth so maybe Amethyst should take her into her classes of being honest and figuring out what she wants to do." "I wouldn't mind. I've had worse students." They all continued situating classes for the rubies. Then came The Kindergarten Quartz Who Could. "Well, she likes fighting but has a temper maybe something calming...Lapis can we-" "NO! She is not coming anywhere near my students or my art gallery! She shouldn't even be allowed in this school!" "Lapis calm yourself. I barely know her but she doesn't seem all that bad." Bismuth remarked. "She's awful! Who's idea was it to let her enroll anyway?" "Mine," Steven said. "Now let's just figure this out. If no art class then no art class. Yoga might be better."
(Lapis's POV)
He let her into the school! How could he? She's going to hurt our students I know it. I need to get her out of here...I thought Steven was my friend. He knows what she did to me. The meeting was over really quick. Looks like I got Leggy as my new student. Honestly, she was the least annoying one. We walked outside. I saw Steven run-up to Jasper. "Hey, Jasper. Great news you enrolled!" He said excitedly. "Great. Tell me why I agreed to this again?" She asked in a very irritated tone. There's no way I'm getting through this. I could hear someone walking up to me. I turned out to see Leggy. "Hello again. Looks like you're in my class." "Oh uh Okay. When is that?" She asked while staring at the ground. I sighed. Somehow I think Leggy just might be worse. "Okay follow me to the gallery. Keep that brute away from me." I walked off with Leggy glaring at Steven. I can't believe he'd do this. There's no way she will change.
(No One's POV)
Weeks passed during the new student's enrollment and things seemed to have gone well. The Crystal Gems began to trust Jasper a bit more with her recent improvement. All except Lapis. Despite Jasper staying away from her or not talking to her both have a hatred towards each other. Lapis also avoided Steven regularly. On a normal occasion, they'd normally hang out and chat with one another. She slowly stopped doing so. The first few times Steven assumed she was busy with her new students but it just turned to her avoiding him all the time. Even outside classes. "Lazuli!" Peridot cried. Lapis flew over to see the issue. "Don't forget about the Crystal Concert next week! You're playing your tambourine aren't you?" Peridot asked. "Oh yeah, I don't know if I'll go," Lapis responded nervously. "What! Why?!" Peridot shouted. "We planned this for weeks!" Lapis chuckled nervously. "I know but Leggy forgot her homework and I need to tutor her". "Well, I guess I could ask Jasper to pl-" Peridot cut herself off. "N-never mind. I'll just go see if Bismuth is interested." Lapis flew in front of her. "Wait. I'll be there. Leggy can wait." Peridot looked at her in shock and excitement. "I know things are hard and you don't trust Jasper but maybe just give it a chance. I'm not saying fuse or be friends with her but at least act like you don't hate her? Just for everyone's sake and mine." Peridot asked shrugging. Lapis looked to the side. "Hm...okay okay. I guess I'll try. But if anything fishy happens I'm going to freak and she's expelled." Lapis said sternly. "I'm not going to trust her." Peridot sighed but gave a thumbs up. "It's as good as it'll get. I'm not sure Steven will be happy if she gets expelled. Maybe make a comprise? Anyways I gotta get going. See ya later!" Peridot ran off carrying flyers. Lapis thought a moment. "Should I try getting along? I won't let my guard down too much. Why did she have a sudden change of heart? She tried killing us all. Speaking of her where is she? Steven didn't let her stay at the Dorms did he?!" She thought to herself. She summoned her wings and flew above the school looking for Jasper. She spotted her laying against the building. One of its foundations were loose and was ready to fall. She looked to the side and saw Freckles. "HEY! WATCH OUT!" Lapis screamed flying down as fast as she could. She hit the ground and flew in the wrong direction. Freckles looked at her confused. "You okay?" She asked offering a hand out. Lapis pulled her down and away. "What was that for? Is that a human gesture for hello?" Freckles asked. "No! Jasper pushed that down and was trying to hit you!" Jasper looked over. " It was unstable. It's not my fault she wasn't paying attention. Even if she was it wasn't gonna hit her." She explained." If you focused you could've seen that I was holding a rope to keep it from falling until Bismuth turns with tools. I tried ripping it from the ground but she insists this is a wonderful learning opportunity for me. Bleh. Can't t believe I agreed to this." Lapis glared at her. "Don't think I believe you for a second! If you did hold it from a rope then show me!" She shouted. "Okay. You're choice." Jasper responded as she let go of the rope. In result the beam fell down and fell right next to Lapis. "Dang it. My mug was under there." Freckles said looking at the ground. "Does this mean I failed?" Lapis continued glaring at Jasper. "Take a picture it'll last longer. Anyways I need to go deal with Bismuths lecture. If she blames me for this your fault." Lapis clenched her fist. "She's not getting away with this that easy." Freckles tapped her shoulder. "Can I do an extra credit assignment for my-" Lapis cut her off. "Where's Steven!? Answer that and you pass!" "Ooh! Ooh! I know this! He's at the fry shop in town!" Freckles said excitedly. "Did I pass?" Lapis summoned her wings again. "Yeah A+. Go do whatever or find Garnet. Talk with her." She flew off and went into town. "Universe you are in for it." She said to herself.
