I put him down on pale
half-caste chains
Resent had made its home
among the ocean rods in his eyes
His best came blisteringly short
and that's why I loved him
He took three days
over a second
and I savored him;
charmed by the invisible smile
that slept among
freckle-drown lips -
that cut down anyone
they could muster
and everyone that
spread his namesake
He could have killed me
but here are
