3 • Another Jolly Year at Hogwarts

Lily's POV

We made it back to the compartment, half the ride already over.
Everyone was laughing at something Sirius had said. They were all quite enjoying each other's company. I smiled as I thought how it was one of the last times we'd enjoy our train rides like this. Who would have thought that Lily Evans could ever enjoy with the Marauders.

They all look up as me and James shut the door behind us and take our seats. Me being between Marlene and the window while he sat across from me with Remus on his other side.

All of chatted for a while occassionally cracking jokes which led to us howling in laughter. Soon I found myself drifting off to sleep thinking of our friends.

I was woken up by someone shaking me.
"Wake up Lils" James said. "We're almost there. You might want to change into your robes and then we've also got to lead the first years."

I nodded and made my way out to the changing rooms. Within a few minutes we had reached the station. We got our trunks and got out of the train. Me and James started calling out the first years.

"FIRST YEARS! THIS WAY YOU ALL. COME ON" we called.

Soon we were all ready to get the carriages. Although unfortunately most of the carriages were filled and half of them had already taken off. Though we managed to find one empty carriage.

Remus sat at the farther corner with Peter then Alice beside him. I sat across Alice, James beside me with Marlene sitting on Sirius' lap at the end. Almost as we were about to get moving someone unwelcome joined our carriage.

James' POV

The carriage door opened an in came sni-Snape, dragging his trunk behind him. All of us looked at him with disgust. No one here liked him and yet he's here? He looks up and says "what? Everywhere else is full." As though that justified his presence he gets in and sits to to closest seat that just so happens to be next to Lily.

I could see Lily tense up at being squished by Snape. She was trying to get as farther away from him as possible though that didn't seem to work since the seats weren't meant for these many people to sit on them together.

But before any of us could protest the carriage door slammed shut and it started moving. Sensing Lily's growing uneasiness I bent down and whispered in her ear. "You're always welcome to sit my lap if you want to" I say grinning slightly but not too much.

She seemed to consider it for a moment then looked me and then at Snape. The next moment she slid onto my lap deciding that sitting on my lap was a better idea than being next to Sniv-Snape.

Everyone gave different reactions to Lily sitting on my lap. Marlene and Sirius wolf whistled almost in sinc. They really do seem perfect for each other. I've known Marly my whole life. We're almost like siblings. Actually we kind of are seeing as in all purebloods are somehow related to each other. I think it's kinda gross that some people marry only purebloods. I mean to think you could be marrying your own cousin thrice removed or something....

Anyways, back to present.... Remus smirked while Alice smiled knowingly. Peter who was apparently not paying much attention just stared around. While Snape glared at both of us. But who even cares about what that slimy git thinks.

Soon enough we reached Hogwarts. We make our way to the great hall. I go back to when I first walked into these halls... I was in absolute aww along with the rest of the Marauders. Although we weren't officially the Marauders then, we were still friends. We had sat in the same compartment on the train and seemed to like each other quite well.

No matter how many years you come here you can never seem to get enough of Hogwarts. And to think it's our last year at Hogwarts. it's just crazy. We'll never come back here.....

Well then we'll just have to make this year count. All the more reason to pull our annual prank tomorrow... I know. I know. I'm supposed to mature n all... Believe me I have. But a little fun every now and then doesn't hurt anyone does it? Besides it's nothing harmful and Padfoot would probably do something stupid if we dont agree with him for the prank. And eventually talk about how this will never happen again, that this is our last chance to enjoy...

I'm pulled out of my thoughts as Dumbledore starts his speech...

"Welcome, to another year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Before we begin the banquet, I would like to introduce you to our new heads - Mr Potter and Ms Evans."

Me and Lily stood up and smiled kindly. Most of the crowd clapped for us while we received glare from the Slytherins. Not like I expected anything more...

We soon finished devouring the delicious food and stood up to leave for the common room with our friends when professor McGonagall stopped us.

"Ms Evans. Mr Potter. Let me show you to your dorms" she said.
Huh? Why would Minnie have to show us to our dorms? We've been in this school for 6 years.. we know the way to the Gryffindor common room...

"But professor we already know the way to the Gryffindor dorms" said Lily clearly in the same confusion I was in...

"Oh no. Not the Gryffindor common room dear. The Heads Dorms." She said. "You will both be sharing a dorm this year. It's behind the portrait of the two sisters on the seventh floor. You can choose whatever password you like. And give the access to the password to as less people as possible. We are here. If you two need anything you may come to me or Albus. For now I must get going..."

And she thus leaves us outside a portrait of two young women. One of them has long sandy blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. She had a long violet dress on with a rather lot of accessories. Her name was Martina - the older sister. She looked very lady-like....
The other one had light ginger hair reaching just below her shoulders with thin braids. She had warm brown eyes. She was clad in an elegant green dress that ended just above her ankles. She only had a ring and small earings on. She held a book in her hand. She was Katerina - the younger sister.

"Um- so what do you reckon the password should be?" Lily asks me.

"Honestly you chose whatever you like. But how about amare?" I ask.

"Yeah sure"

After telling the girls the password we entered the common room and our mouths are almost touching the ground.
It was perfect!!
